Since approximately 2007, Alabama has started 4 , 3, 8, 4, 5, 5, 4, 5, 6, 4, 2, 3, 1, 1, 1, and 5 white players. I count 3 this season.

Ty Simpson stuck around three seasons before starting his senior year, then parlayed that into a first round NFL selection. Now that he’s gone, coach Kalen DeBoer is back to business as usual, which for him is picking out which black quarterback will lead his team of blacks.

Josh Ford transferred from Oklahoma State to be a “blocking TE.” He’ll get more snaps than stats.

Returning starting safety Bray Hubbard is the real team unicorn and a likely draft pick. Sophomore linebacker Luke Metz might push his way onto the field.

Starters:
LT: Jackson Lloyd
C: Racin Delgatty

SS: Bray Hubbard

Backups:
TE: Josh Ford, Marshall Pritchett

LB: Luke Metz

Alabama has two White QBs on the roster that both had other options yet opted to ride the bench at Alabama.

Offers from Miami OH, Akron, UMASS and Arizona. As a California prospect and another prototype of the PAC 12 QBs why weren't more west coast teams offering him? What goes through these kid's minds? Is it being associated with a name brand team rather than getting a chance to play?

Jett Thomalla was a big time 4 star prospect and heavily recruited. He also made the decision to commit to Alabama.
