Under their sleazebag head coach Rich Rodriguez the number drops to 6 this season, and that’s only because the Mountaineers list a starting fullback, Kayden Luke, who has had all of five touches in the past two seasons combined.
Carston Casady is the starting left tackle, Nick Krahe starts at left guard, and Ryan Ward is the starting tight end.
Sophomore Scotty Fox is the second string quarterback. He threw for 1,276 yards last year with 7 TDs and 6 picks.
Redshirt junior John Neider is the second string Z receiver. A transfer from Connecticut, he caught 27 passes for 422 yards and 2 TDs last year, an impressive average of 15.6 yards per reception.
Backup linemen on the two deep are center Wes King, right guard Devin Bass, and right tackle Kevin Brown.
Perhaps the biggest positive on this year’s team is freshman Matt Sieg from the Pittsburgh area being listed as the starting free safety, but even that comes with a huge Caste System asterisk.
