Since 2005, the Miami Redhawks have started 13, 13, 16, 13, 9, 11, 10, 9, 9, 14, 14, 9, 11, 10, 13, 11, 11, 10, 11 and 6 white players. In 2026 Miami is projected to start 9.

Miami is one of the decent MAC teams this year worthy of catching during MACtion. They could easily get into the double digits at some point this season. As good as can be expected in the current college football climate.

The QB position does remain a question mark heading into the season. One name stuck out to me and that is Freshman QB Drew Bellisari. His father Greg Bellisari played for Ohio State in the 90s and his uncle was Steve Bellisari the former OSU QB that was drafted by the Rams and converted to DB in 2002. Ryan Day completely ignored an instate legacy player with a stellar high school career to continue filling his roster with magical upsiders.

Players to look out for are TE Brendan Loftus, DE James Schott, LB Blayne Myrick, LB CJ Young, S Josh Ringer (RB Convert), S Leo Colombi

Offense
QB Thomas Gotkowski or David McComb
RB Cade Yacamelli * position battle/should get carries
RG Jacob Schorsch
RT Evan Malcore

Defense
DE Grant Lyons
DT Brach Rice
LB Brock Uihlein
SS Ben Minich
FS Eli Coppess

two White safeties is becoming just as rare as a White cornerback … what’s the story on the converted rb, Josh Ringer?

hard to believe there aren’t more young skill position players than this who are fit to contribute to a team, especially at this level in middle America. no reason other than the Caste System could honestly justify this.

I should also mention that 2 Miami OH rookies are currently playing in the NFL - LB Jackson Kuwatch drafted by the Panthers and S Silas Walters is an UDFA with the Ravens. Also, DE Adam Trick got a NIL deal and should feature heavily for Texas Tech this year.
