2026 Track Results

Fast, faster, Jakob Kemminer. By setting the German U20 record from 1988 (!) by Berliner Sven Matthes, the LAC Quelle Fürth athlete literally set off fireworks on the blue synthetic track in the Lohrheide Stadium and confidently sprinted to victory over 100 meters. The U18 European champion clocked 10.14 seconds at the finish - this means he has also broken the standard for the European Championships in Birmingham (Great Britain; August 10th to 16th), catapulted himself to third place on the German annual best list for men and, last but not least, is likely to be one of the favorites at the U20 World Championships in Eugene.

The athletes in second to fourth place were also extremely fast, all of whom recorded a “PB”. The promising impression from the relay race on Friday was confirmed by Lennox Schmidt (SCC Berlin), who secured silver in 10.25 seconds ahead of Alvin Mawumba (TV Wattenscheid 01; 10.36 sec) and was also able to fly to the USA for the international highlight.

"Running the European Championship standard for men is unbelievable. I would never have thought that. Especially because I didn't feel well this morning and was very nervous. But in the stadium everything went well and everything went well in the runs. After I held back a bit in the semi-final, I wanted to give it my all in the final and give it my all. Now the worst thing I could have dreamed of has happened. I will definitely start at the U20 World Cup, the European Championship is in Birmingham “It’s rather unlikely. I’ll still be there at the youth championships in two weeks,” said Jakob Kemminer, still a little disbelieving about what he had achieved on Saturday.

Jakob Keminner ran 10.14 at the German U20 Championships, which tied the U20 German record.
Other notable marks from this meet: Marc Leonard Hildebrand ran 13.22 in the high hurdles, and Emma Goretzka won the women's 100m in 11.19.

Yassine Hssine of Morocco won the 200m in Budapest with a NR of 19.92.
Kennedy was 6th in 20.44.
Also, Sam Blaskowski was 6th in the 100m in 10.12.

Our friend Emile Erasmus is racing in Switzerland tommorow. It's a good track known for fast times. Here is my prediction. I think
he goes sub 10 tommorow. He has raced alot like Sam Blaskowski but Emile E. is more used to the long season. I just have a feeling
tommorow will be the day he finally breaks his 10.01 p.b. He had a 10.00 windy a few weeks ago. Let's Go Get This sub 10!

just for fun I looked at the wind/altitude tables. If he runs the equivalent of a 10.10 base time on Thursday but he has 1.8 metres of wind pushing him as it did in France he might crack a 9.99. That would look nice on his record sheet. This time the elevation will be 435m - it was only 60m in that French run.
I so hope he makes the RSA Commonwealth Games relay team

One girl of note from the 100m heats today at the Euro U18 Championships, is Carolina-Andreea Punga of Romania.
She had the 4th fastest qualifying time, 11.51 (0.6w). It may not seem like an exceptional time, but she is only 15 years old!!
She has a PB of 11.36 from 2 weeks ago. One to keep an eye on for sure.

There was also a Slovakian Sprinter on the boys side that ran a effortless 10.41. +0.5. His name is Timotej Nemcek. The Championship
Record is only a time of 10.32 so he may have a chance to break it in the semi finals or the finals.
