Alan Chaves looks a beast. Seriously heavy hands! Check the KO!!

You beat me to this I am usually lazy on posting Latino fighters as most are Mestizo, Black or Mulatto but he is a White Argentine puncher who just off of his power is a gem prospect. He is with Hearn so he can get the bouts necessary to make it to an eliminator without jumping through a million hoops.

Also this weekend on Triller Andrii Novytskyi beat probably the best opponent of his career in Alexander Flores and did it in style. Flores is a long way off from a fringe contender but he isn't truly a tomato can either.

Bryce Mills won a prospect cross roads bout against a PR opponent where he dominated his opponent from the opening bell and eventually dropped and stopped him at the conclusion of the third round. Mills will probably need to jump to a big time promoter when his contract expires as he will have problems securing big bouts having upstate New York has his home base,

Finally last night I saw the funniest scene ever where Eddie Hearn cheered on his now "friend and client" Big Idiot Miller who battered and out worked the older Pero brother in a WBA eliminator. Hearn who claimed he would never work with the obnoxious devious drug cheat is now promoting him and suggested off this win Miller deserved a crossroads bout against the badly faded Wilder. On the surface this bout would probably be something similar to Wilder vs Chisora but Wilder has the shrewd Finkle in his corner and Finkel is going sell the carcass of Wilder to the highest bidder and that won't be a bout with Miller.

Beautiful shot - could be KO of the year. I was considering starting a thread here for Chaves, a White Argentinian. He clearly has some world-class boxing skills.

Thanks for posting this Charles Martel. I had seen this and wanted to watch it again but couldn't remember the names. I haven't paid as much attention to boxing as I used to but I will keep track of this guy. He looks to be the goods so far. Can't wait to see when he moves up.

Yes not a busy a weekend but it's an eventful one with the two cards. The Japanese civil war is the premiere card and the winner will be a candidate for the top position on the pound for pound list.

The Vegas card is promoted as a Mexican civil war but the style of Ramirez isn't to go to war but to box from the outside. Benavidez if he is to win will have to make the long Mexican national to fight on the inside, the American is the betting favorite off of his form and perceived power advantage.

Also in the biggest news of the week Fury vs Joshua is signed for a fall fight and Joshua will have an interim fight in late July and Fury may have one too in a similar time frame.

Note the Japanese fight will be on during the middle of the night on DAZN with main event starting after 7am EST on Saturday.

No caste match-ups but I think Benavidez's confidence is based on the fact that he probably dominated Ramirez in the gym before, after the fall of Canelo he is probably the next closest thing to a face Mexican fighters have. Good fight for Inoue as well.

I tried staying up for the Japanese civil war but I couldn't find a working stream about an hour before the main event and decided to go back to bed and watch a pirate copy.

The civil war was fought in spurts with Inoue controlling the action when the fight was tactical. Around the 8th round Nakatani was told by his corner that he was losing badly on points and started letting his hands go and the fight got interesting and he won rounds and had the Monster retreating but never had him badly stunned. The 11th round could have saved the fight for Inoue as he stunned Nakatani and had him retreating and the 12th round was uneventful where Nakatani tried to box from the outside instead of attacking for the knockout.

I must say I only watched a out of focus pirate copy but the scoring seemed to be about right with 116-112 scores twice and one 115-113 score.

Hopefully the Mexican civil war has better action tonight than the Japanese civil war which played out similar to a bloodless coup.

I caught the fight, Benavidez really crushed him, didn't expect the power to carry that much.

It played out similar to what I thought it would but the fight was beaten out of Ramirez much quicker than I thought. He similar to Dubois against Usyk (twice) could have beat the count when he took his knee but had the fight beaten out of him mentally.

There was talk of super fights with Bivol or Opetaia but somebody will have to sponsor those fights as big money fights and the cruiserweight and light heavyweight divisions aren't in the boxing lexicon.

PS I missed this yesterday but Conah Walker engaged in a brutal war with Sam Eggington and triumphed in their battle. From the wire reports it was described as a British club fight version of any of the Gatti vs Ward brawls.

PS2 there as been crazy talk of Benevidez vs Usyk and I don't see how a blown up 196 pounder having any shot at doing anything with close to a prime Usyk as the American would be spotting weight, reach and even footwork. He could be even up on hand speed but he would have a further hinderance of getting further acclimatized to carry over 200 pounds in the ring.

I could see a possibility of Benevidez having a black swan moment similar to Jones when he grabbed a belt versus Ruiz who was a weak paper champion and Jones was even smaller than Benevidez in terms of height and reach and was the last challenger that weighed less than 200 pounds and is also the last reigning heavyweight champion to weigh less than 200 pounds.

If the titles get split a Charles Martin type could hold a splintered belt for a cup of coffee and would be vulnerable to all challengers.

Yes the Wardley vs Dubois is the crown jewel bout of the weekend.

Jalolov's opponent is a B side guy but has only lost to decent opponents so this should be a win for the Uzbek but he isn't a total stiff. I agree Jalolov has been spinning his wheels for years and fought opponents as tough as this an Olympic cycle ago. He needs to step up or his prime years could be wasted due to mismanagement.

The Vegas card has a do or die fight for Bohachuk who was surprisingly outhustled in his last fight against a credible opponent in Brandon Adams. If he loses to Mosley Jr. he could be cosigned to name B side work. It shouldn't happen but he could be slipping as he hasn't looked sharp since the brawl with Ortiz.

https://www.boxingscene.com/article...r-will-discuss-potential-oleksandr-usyk-fightPs there is a solid reason for the speculation of Usyk vs Benevidez as the crown prince wants this fight and will offer substantial purses to both fighters. I originally thought it was various commentators being prisoners of the moment.

Also lets hope that Wardley beats Dubois as nobody wants to see Usyk vs Dubois III and that includes the accountant of Usyk and the mother of Dubois...
