Aunt Crissy and Tirico were obsessed with Riley Moss the entire game. They treated him as if he was a special needs student. He was mentioned by name every single time he covered a receiver whether the receiver made the catch or not, and they mostly didn't. They seemed to enjoy pointing out how many times he's been called for pass interference this season without putting it in any kind of context, namely that most of them were bs "ghost" calls. They kept acting mystified that Moss was "allowed" to cover receivers by himself, apparently feeling he was in need of a black big brother to help him out. Given that Crissy owns PFF he should be as aware as anyone that Moss has played well and that many of those PI calls were ridiculous, which only buttresses my view that PFF reflects Crissie's anti-White biases. Moss's one misstep was in OT when Deebo got by him for a catch, but then Moss made a great tackle before Samuel could score and it subsequently took Washington four plays to finally score from the three.
Looking at his stats, Moss had 3 tackles, 1 assist and 2 pass defenses. Given how often he was targeted, that illustrates how few receptions he gave up, and of course the 2 PDs were both positive plays. His coverage all game was tight and he made some terrific plays preventing catches and knocking the ball away when it looked like a catch would be made. But Tirico and Crissie seemed to take delight in focusing so much attention on Riley, subtly affirming negative narratives about White CBs not being able to play without ever mentioning race. And actually it wasn't even subtle to those aware of the Caste System and the many different ways it's enabled and reinforced.
