Freddy Freeman with the walkoff home run to end game 3 in the bottom of the 18th inning. WOW!:p

After facing eliminations last night, the Dodgers found a way to take it to the seventh game. They will try and win their second WS in a row and 3 in the last 6 years! Ohtani will be on the bump for LA and Scherzer for Toronto. Should be a great game! Pulling for LA to win. Would like to see more Freddie Freeman heroics and catcher Will Smith who has been very consistent for LA throughout the series.

I'm rooting for the Blue Jays, Carolina! Will be a good game for sure! The Yesavage story line is a great one. The Blue Jays appear to be a bit whiter to me, and I am sick of hearing about ohtani! But I will be happy for Freeman if the dodgers win!

Facing the Los Angeles Dodgers, Trey Yesavage broke a 76-year-old record once held by a Dodgers legend.

The Toronto Blue Jays rookie starter’s 12 strikeouts in Game 5 surpassed Don Newcombe’s record for strikeouts in a World Series game by a rookie, set in Game 1 of the 1949 Fall Classic. Rookie or not, Yesavage’s 12 punchouts were the most in a World Series game since 2000, when Orlando Hernández struck out a dozen New York Mets batters.

No other starter has struck out as many as 12 in the World Series since the Blue Jays entered the majors as an expansion team in 1977.

The history didn’t stop there, as Yesavage is the first starter in World Series history to strike out 12 or more batters without issuing a walk. Over seven innings, the 22-year-old allowed one run on three hits. The lone blemish was Kiké Hernández’s third-inning solo home run. It was also the only hit that left the infield against Yesavage.

Even among rookies, Yesavage is unusually inexperienced. He made just three starts in the regular season after a mid-September promotion. The right-hander began the year in the Class A Florida State League.

In five postseason starts, Yesavage has struck out 39 hitters, breaking the rookie record for a single postseason set in 2013 by Michael Wacha.

Right KS5000. The Yesavage storyline is awesome! Especially to many here in NC. Although Yesavage is from Pennsylvania, he played college ball at East Carolina. I don't mind Ohtani if I have to choose between him and Guerrero being the MVP although Toronto wouldn't be where they're at without Yesavage and the other Toronto pitchers. Barger, Clement and Lukes have been huge contributors as well.
I'm a big Freddie Freeman supporter going back to his Atlanta Braves years as he could go down as one of the greatest first basemen of all time. Will Smith has been huge too and it would mean another WS for Kershaw as well.

I don't watch much baseball whatsoever but that was a wild game 7. I'm so out of the loop I didn't even know Scherzer was on the Blue Jays, but I was really hoping he would've taken the W tonight once I saw him. As a completely neutral observer knowing nothing about the teams going in, that was a really fun game to watch

I learned about Yesavage's journey this year a few days ago and was already pulling for them, too. I wish him the best in the future. I wonder if Max will retire, he's one of my all time favorites since I used to actually watch when he played for the Tigers.

Bo Bichette's mother is part Chinese. So I'd assume Bo is 1/4 Asian, at the most. Marianna Bichette's (google name for more pics) family is from Brazil. So the clown's in the media claim she is "Brazilian/Chinese". But, Brazilian's can be of any ethnicity. Lot of Italian's in Brazil and even more Portuguese. I assume she's Portuguese with some Chinese. Given she's probably about 51 or 52, I'd say Brazil was probably over half-white when she was born and she comes from a wealthy family, I believe. Either way, I would absolutely count Bo as White. He's much closer to White than some 1/4 mulattoes that are notable in sports (NFL) -- who I would never consider white!

Google AI claims Bichette's mom was pregnant in 1993 (as a teen?) with Bo., while Dante was in his 30's. But that is not totally correct. That must've been Dante Jr., who was actually drafted higher (51st overall/2011) than Bo (66th/2016), but never made it. Dante Jr. was picked by the Yankees, when Joe Girardi was their skipper. Girardi and Bichette Sr. were said to be best friends with the expansion Colorado Rockies, so it's likely Dante Jr., who is very white looking (photo I linked above), was overdrafted because of that. Dante Jr. never got close to playing MLB and Girardi was eventually fired.

I, too, was rooting for the Blue Jays, but just wasn't to be. As far as Yesavage, I remember him at East Carolina in 2024. Think I saw him pitch a game on TV (ESPN U)? Not surprised, at all, he was a 1st round pick. But very surprised how fast he got to the big leagues and performed like a star. Actually, in retrospect, he should've been drafted much higher. I think at least one (perhaps 2) mulatto pitchers were picked ahead of him.

Dodgers catcher Will Smith hits the game winning homerun in top of the 11th to give LA their third title in 6 years. I was pulling for the Dodgers.
Glad to see they won. Will Smith being the hero of game 7 was great. The Dodgers team although has changed alot since the 2020 WS Championship when 8 of 9 starters were white plus pitchers Kershaw, Buehler, etc., There are still plenty of reasons to cheer for LA and as mucked as this country is, I would prefer that a US based team win. Canada is more liberal than the US in many ways.
Will Smith, HOF Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Edman, and Keki Hernandez of Perto Rico who look's whiter than me. If you count Ohtani, that's 6 of the 9 starters that are white. Pitching wise; HOF Clayton Kershaw, Glasnow, Sheehan, Wrobleski, and Blake Snell in the pitching rotation and or relief. Pretty good way to end the season.
Hopefully, the Cubs, Phillies, or Brewers can get it together in 2026. Those were the three teams I would've preferred to have won.

Blue Jays Ernie Clement sets a playoff record for hits. Congrats to him! Great achievement.

I am mostly happy for Freeman. One of the true greats of the era that still does not get the proper recognition. I still remember when he was coming up at the same time as Jason Heyward in the Braves organization and all the hype of course was around Heyward.

Me as well. I posted earlier this year about Freeman the active career leader in 7 categories including runs, hits, doubles, RBI's, and total bases. An incredible accomplishment! Freeman and Kershaw first ballot HOF for sure. Will Smith could make it as well if he keeps his all star playing going.
BTW, I have to correct my post on the Dodgers. It's 3 WS Championships in the last 6 years, not 3. I'm getting old and screw up my posts from time to time.

I agree, Bucky. Seems all sports leagues now have one or two teams that everyone wants to join or be traded to, so that they can leave their farm team or the Washington Generals to move up to the "big leagues". Lol.

Their pitching alone was over 1 billion dollars. Insane!

Judging from the photos she might be a quarter Chinese and he is one 1/8th Chinese. Sam Bradford is only 1/16th Native American but if you saw him you would think he was about a quarter Native American, Bichette is probably similar.

As for the series the 25' series will go down in history as one of the all time great series in baseball history similar to 75', 86', 97' and 2016. The Jays had ample chances to close out key games and either get a strangle hold on the series or outright win the series.

The Pages catch will probably go down in history similar to the Mays catch in the 54' series as it literally saved the series for the Dodgers while he muscled out his teammate while running on a dead sprint to the wall.
