2025 Wide Receivers

Nick DeGennaro is an intriguing prospect. the James Madison wideout has good size (listed at 6-foot-1, 196 lbs) and speed (won a state championship in the 100-meters in high school with a 10.91 personal-best), and he's blown up the past two games for the Dukes, going over 100 yards for 2 touchdowns on just 3 catches IN EACH CONTEST. wow!

he's bounced around a bit after getting cast(e) aside by Maryland out of high school, but he’s always been able to get open and make catches.

Nick DeGennaro is a name that might have a chance as a pro, if he can continue making plays.
 
entering Week 11 of the college football season, 4 of the top 10 receivers nationally are of the overachieving variety.

#1 - Danny Scudero is far and away the best receiver in the country, statistically speaking. the San Jose State redshirt sophomore leads the nation in receiving yards (1,085) and yards-per-catch (17.2 [with a 45 catch minimum]), and is second in receptions (63) and touchdown catches (10). though small in stature at a listed 5-foot-9, 174 pounds, Scudero is best known for his big play ability. is it a surprise that he started his collegiate career at the FCS level?

#7 - at 774 receiving yards (from 45 catches with 5 tds) so far, Cooper Barkate was a very smart pickup in the transfer portal. *pun* the former Ivy Leaguer is the complete package at wideout. the graduate student can pick up the tough underneath catches or the explosive yards after the catch (as attested by his 17.2 yard average). is it a surprise that he started his collegiate career at the FCS level?

#9 - Beau Sparks is a former sprinter with 10.4 speed in the 100-meters, but now makes plays with his hands, too, amassing 741 yards and 6 touchdowns off his 51 catches so far this season. despite adequate size (listed at 5-foot-11, 177 pounds), game breaking speed, and impressive punt return ability is it a surprise that he started his collegiate career at the FCS level?

#10 - Illinois senior Hank Beatty rounds out my list with 730 yards and 3 touchdowns on 49 catches. the former Illinois high school Gatorade PoY was named a mid-season all-American by the Sporting News as an all-purpose player. it may come as a surprise, but he actually was recruited to play for the Illini out of high school.

Charlie Becker has breakout game for the Hoosiers

On a day when Indiana was without their go-to receiver in Elijah Sarratt, it was Charlie Becker who came through when his team needed him the most. The sophomore from Tennessee led the Hoosiers with seven receptions for 118 yards, including a number of crucial grabs in a 27-24 win for IU over Penn State.

Charlie Becker followed up his first-ever start with another outstanding performance: game-highs of 5 catches and 108 yards, with 1 touchdown. he also had the longest play from scrimmage on the day for either team , a 48-yard catch. is he the next Patrick Jeffers?

Easton Messer has flown mostly under the radar here at Caste Football (and he’s getting ZERO notice nationally), but he’s an elite slot receiver who is second in the nation with 83 catches. he models his game after Julian Edelman, is the same size as Wes Welker, and looks like Cooper Kupp. despite playing on a terrible team, he still gets open and makes plays. what does the future hold for him?

Braden Pegan has really come on late in the season. he’s an intriguing prospect who is showing what he can do after getting cast(e) aside at UCLA. still just a junior, he’s an outside receiver with upside.

Former 6'-4" 2nd team Charlie Becker has been a nice surprise; getting the opportunity due to injury . Want to watch more Indiana games ....would be nice to be the next Pat Jeffers w 1.000 yard seasons in his NFL future!

Maybe Easton Messer flew mostly under the radar here at CF...But not for me (22) ; check it out he's on the Top/ FIRST 2025 WR Post #6 Pic Shown; ; when he and QB Caden Veltkamp came in package deal from Western Kentucky; figured Messer would have a solid year. He should be in some NFL teams Summer Camp
