Since 2005 Indiana has started 11,12,8,9,9,11,10,10,14,9,10,11,9,12,7,5,6, 7, 5 and 9 White athletes. The Hoosiers are projected to start 7 in 2025.

Players to look out for are WR Charlie Becker, DE Mario Landino, LB Aiden Turner, DL Andrew DePaepe, DL William DePaepe

Offense
QB Fernando Mendoza
LT Carter Smith
LG Drew Evans
C Pat Coogan
RG Bray Lynch
RT Zen Michalski

Defense
LB Aiden Fisher

Through one quarter of the season Fernando Mendoza should be the leader in the Heisman conversation along with being the 1st overall pick in 2026 if he declares. His style of play is very similar to Tom Brady, his favorite player and also shared a similar recruiting and early collegiate experience.

I went through a few of his interviews over the weekend and he’s just a very likeable, well spoken, determined young athlete. I hope more folks on this site become aware of him as well and try to take in one of the Hoosiers games this season.

Watching a bit the Hoosiers game and the announcers were really hyping #46. He looked white, but with a name like Isaiah Jones, I feared he was a light-skinned mulatto, i.e. Alec Ingold or Garrett Warrlow.

But it appears Jones is indeed white. 32 tackles/4.5 sacks in 6 games. Solid (NFL) size, too, for an inside linebacker -- 6'2"/230. A junior, I assume he can add some more bulk prior to entering the NFL Draft.

I'll be keeping a close eye on him going forward. Maybe he'll be a Carson Schwesinger type, who comes out of nowhere to blossom into a NFL prospect?

Good eye. Looks like his pops played TE at Ohio State in Mid 90s! DJ Jones

To add onto @Truthteller and his excellent observation of an overlooked LB that I missed completely in the original writeup. I found this cut up of LB Aiden Fisher who had a great game himself in the upset over Oregon earning Big Ten defensive player of the week.

Leo, it would be great if Fisher and Jones both follow in the footsteps of Micah McFadden and become NFL starters. Hopefully both will be drafted higher than Micah (5th).

As far as missing him in the original write-up, can't blame you. Doing all the write-ups, limited time to do it? Not easy! Also, with a name like Isaiah Jones, who would've guessed he was White? I had to double check online, even though he looked White on TV!

Also, a soph named Mario Landino is also off to a great start. Forget the stats (which have been great) look how tall and cut he looks in his bio page photos. He already looks like a NFL talent. This is in contrast with Kenneth Grant, Dolphins #1 pick (early season super flop), who looks like he's auditioning for a role as Fat Albert! Well, not that bad... but he's getting there!

P.S: Bucky, yes, it's hard to believe Ohio State let Jones go, considering he's the son a ex-OSU player. Not smart by Day. Hope he stays true to Cignetti and does not try to transfer to OSU. Loyalty is a great trait, I think. Actually, Day is huge improvement over that superturd, that eventually took the Jax Jaguars jobs and was getting lap dances by students who were like 1/3 his age :buitre:

Thanks Truthteller for mentioning Isaiah Jones...caught my first glimpse of him toward the end of the Oregon (trying to watch multiple games) Sat. afternoon. Dude does have the look of a Future NFLer

Got the same vibe when watching JJ Watt early in his career at Wisconsin & Braden Fiske at Western Michigan ' before transferring to Florida State

Insane the trajectory of Carson Schwesinger's career...from Walk-on nobody to stud NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate
