Yeah, I usually get blasted when I dare bring up one of their untouchable "truths". One guy last year asked what short-armed tackles have ever been any good. I just listed about 20 hall of famers to answer his question. And let him know that they would now all be moved to guard or center.
People, even here, would be amazed at how lazy and sometimes flat-out fraudulent many draft "gurus" are. A lot of them watch little or no film on the guys they're supposedly "expertly" analyzing and simply write things based on "consensus" from other "gurus" or just flat-out stereotypes. White defender? Ironic because historically it’s always been whites with the cannons. Stafford, Rodger’s, Cutler, Favre, Elway, Marino, Allen, etc etc. now apparently because a couple bums like Joe Milton and Anthony Richardson could throw really far in practice, that’s the new standard, white man can’t throw far anymore
Exactly right. When it comes to throwing the ball, White QBs are the standard and they have always been the standard. But the caste system is hellbent on pushing a narrative that they aren't. It's just a way for them to compensate for the fact that so many White QBs can hang with black QBs in terms of running ability. People forget that outside of Lamar, Fields, and Hurts, most black QBs playing today are not speed burners. But for some reason people see one positive quality of a few black athletes and extrapolate it to all black athletes or black people in general. Then they do the same for Whites but only with negative qualities. It's a truly bizarre phenomenon. I wonder if there's some psychobabble term for it.
The leash for any white player is incredibly short. Even though Shipley is clearly talented and explosive enough to start for probably half the league, he will now be relegated to RB3.
McCarthy hasn't been perfect but his coach and teammates are not helping him. In fact he just threw an incredible touchdown pass.
