2025 College Football Week One

Well, Manning and Texas looked pretty good on their most recent drive, but can't get a yard on fourth and goal. Whatever happened to faking the dive and get out in space to make a play?
Manning is really mobile/shifty for a big QB. He's listed at 6'4 and 219lbs.

VMI getting blown out by Navy but came across a White WR - Owen Sweeney - 5 receptions for 126 yds and a td so far

The Texas Sumo with his second false start of the day. The announcer assured the audience after his 1st one in the first quarter that he was going to be a high round draft pick.

He'll be fine.
Manning reminded me today a little like Cade Klubnik. Although Klubnik was starting during his freshman year and, Manning is a Junior. Klubnik was thrown into the fire early. Manning as well. Starting your first game against OSU in Columbus. With all the hype. Much more hype than Klubnk received.
Their play look eerily similar. Klubnik was reluctant to throw downfield and would take off running alot. Threw a few INT's as well. Just like Manning did today. Manning's a smart young man, he'll get better with experience.

Not expecting much from Hansen today, because they threw on first down and scored a TD on another pass. They will probably bring in the second string black RB in next series and then start running, get up big and no more Hansen.
I hope I'm wrong.

I think that was a game of two good defenses and two young QBs with not much experience.

I think Manning will be ok too but the media will have their knives out on him this week.

I was wrong. Hansen back in. Gets one carry.
Announcers saying Hansen is the tough runner, but not break away ability even though he runs in the 4.4-5 range, but Sama although tough is the breakaway back.
Sama gets a block from Hansen and gets the TD.
 
Gunnar Stockton already 99 total yards in the first quarter!
5/6, 59 yards passing and 4 carries 40 yards rushing and a 13 yard TD run.
He'll be worth watching this season. Can pass and run.

In looking at the Kentucky box score, there was no Troy Stellato to be seen? Kentucky beat Toledo 24-16.
Can't find anything.

to be fair, South Dakota has loaded up to stop the run, and no one has done anything on the ground for the Cyclones.

but consequently, the Iowa State passing game has looked superb. Becht set a program record for most consecutive completions to start a game before finishing 19-20 for 3 scores and nearly 300 yards. all their tight ends and Esklidson have looked good.

the backups have been in nearly the entire fourth quarter.
 
Credit to FSU. They shut down Alabama's running game. Hopefully Ty Simpson does not become the scapegoat for DeBoer who will go into panic mode after this game which looks to be a big time upset.
