2025 Track Results

16 year old Sorato Shimizu of Japan set a u18 world record the other day in the 100m after he ran a 10.00 +1.7 at Japan’s inter-highschool championships. I don’t see it listed on world athletics yet but it appears to be legitimate. Crazy for a 16 year old and he was already pretty fast as his previous pb was 10.19 set earlier this month.

This has been discussed under the 'High Schoolers' thread.
But you're right, the mark is not listed on the World Athletics site.
It was set at Japan's High School Championships. I don't know if that meet registered with World Athletics.
But it seems to be a legit time.

I posted in the Konstantin Krylov thread about his new Russian National Record of 10.04. This is the 4th fastest time in Europe!

There is another young 22 year old Russian Sprinter Ilya Sazanov that ran a new p.b. of 10.17! Great to see some of these young
Russian Sprinters progressing. If only the ban can be lifted on Russian Athletes competing around the world.

Some great performances from Day 3 of the European Under 23 Championships.

Owe Fischer-Breiholz of Germany won the men's 400m hurdles in a Championship Record time of 48.01. His time breaks Karsten Warholm's record.
Honestly, this is the first, white German men's track athlete that I have been excited about in 15 or 20 years.
Here's a nice article about Owe Fischer-Breiholz.
He might be the next big thing in the 400m hurdles.

Sorato Shimizu's time of 10.00 is now listed on the World Athletics site.

not picking on anyone just saying it is scary that a 16 y old kid is faster than a whole other country.

I sort of get his point....you had just mentioned that Krylov had set the all-time Russian 100m record, and so he pointed out that this Japanese high school kid had just run faster than anybody in Russia ever has.
The same comparison is not true with Poland, England, Germany, Italy, France, etc.

yeah, that was my initial thought too

Sam Blaskowski, Victoria Cameron, and Jenna Prandini, all run this evening in the heats of 100m at the US Championships.

In addition to the US Champs we have the Canadian Champs. Also we will have National Championships in Germany, Italy, Spain and many
other countries. I believe Russia and a few others are next weekend. Good luck to all the men & women. Let's see some new personal best times!

Blaskowski ran a 10.27 into a -1.0 headwind. He did qualify for the semis but I think he’ll be hard pressed to make it through to the final. Let’s hope for a big pb out of him!

Jenna Prandini qualified for the final, running 11.08 in her semi.
Pretty amazing, especially considering she is 32 yrs old now.
One of the few white sprinters who's had some longevity in the sport.

Glad to see some success on the women’s side. The men’s side is a depressing state of affairs. One white guy out of 34 sprinters.

That's why we never do good. It's like the great white hope. You need numbers in sports to consistantly have more guys break
through to become stars. It's alot less likely with the few amount of whites that try in America & many other places. This is
where countries like Japan, China, etc. have a clear advantage as their nations haven't been mostly taken over by people that don't
look or act like them. Whites don't feel that since of racial pride and unity that the others have. It's a huge factor. Always has been
and always will be. Whites need white countries!!!

I also think Blaskowski needs to take a short break to rest up as he ran far off his pb in the semis with a 10.29 with a 0.6 positive wind

On a positive note Audrey Leduc wins the Canadian 100m in 11.06 makes the standard as well by winning the race. Sarah Mitton wins the SP final also makes qualifying standard by winning.

Leduc did not have an easy win as as she was pushed the whole race by the second place finisher 11.09. I also think she needs a short break.

This season started out with a bang, with Walker and Kennedy breaking 10.00. Now, it's kind of fizzled out. But this Japanese prodigy is exciting news. I hope he continues to progress as I am soooo sick of the soul brothers.

Simply incredible. Who knows what he is capable of? He will be the face of sprinting in Japan & inspire more youngsters!

Amy Hunt won the Women's 100m at the British Championships, with a time of 11.02 (1.5w).
Louie Hinchliffe, 3rd in the Men's 100m, 10.01 (2.2w)

I'm very happy to see this result. We all knew that Amy Hunt was an very talented 200 meter runner. She has worked so hard to also become
an elite 100 meter runner. Sub 11 coming soon for this beautiful young lady. I'm also happy Hinchliffe took the bronze medal.
