MLB 2025 Season

Yea, Cal Raleigh has emerged as one of the best catchers over the last 3-4 seasons. I think he’s been obscured by the Mariners lack of recent success. Check out his homers, RBI and WAR over the last 3.5 seasons. Elite for a catcher.

PS - he’s really improved this year across the board. The higher average, which maybe due to a decrease in strikeout rate.

Raleigh has really been under the radar. That's a really impressive 4 season run for a catcher. Glad to see his batting average has made a jump to respectable .268 so far this season. I will say the unfusion of White talent back into the game over the past decade or so has been a pleasant surprise. I'd wager alot of that has to do with the White kids just deciding early on to dedicate themselves to baseball year round - do all the camps, play on travel teams etc.

I can recall for several seasons (from the late 90s to the 2010s) it was almost forbidden to have a White playing catcher or the middle infield. Lots of caste speak revolved around those positions. Nice to see gains being made in a sport that we frankly don't follow enough on this site.

Great season by Cal. Another break out catcher has been Dillon Dingler of the Tigers. He’s hitting .293 with 6 HRs and a 1.7 WAR. Check out this throw…

Anthony just wasting in the minors whilst we waste another season. Infuriating.
Agreed. They have no problem fast tracking Hispanic players to the majors. His minor league career has been impressive and he has been in the system since 2022. Let him stay at AAA until the break and then bring him up.

Alonso another HR last night and two more RBI to remain the league leader at 55. OBP percentage is up to .394? BA .298!

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, whom I know nothing about is leading the league in HR's, (24). He also has 6 stolen bases in only 7 attempts. Pretty good percentage!

1B Soderstrom had 2 HR's and 6 RBI for the A's
SS Wilson was 3-4 3 RBI and 3 R's..... I wish the A's were a better team. Current record is 24-40.
CF Max Muncy 2 HR's 3 RBI is a 22 year old rookie
Raleigh 2 more HR's last night. Now leads MLB by 3.
Alonso another HR today.
Witt Jr. a HR today

Yankees 2B DJ LeMahieu with a nice catch. One of the better hitting 2B of the 2010s. Seems like he is healthy again and playing some good baseball currently.

The Angels Mike Trout goes deep today for a 2 run homerun that went over 400 feet! Very early in the game with the Angels up 2-1.

The New York Mets left baseball fans furious on Friday night after showing a Pride flag on their big screen during a rendition of the US national anthem.

Prior to their game against the Tampa Bay Rays, the Mets controversially displayed the LGBTQ+ symbol instead of the American flag as the Star Spangled Banner played out at Citi Field.

Despite a number of teams getting involved in the annual 'Pride Month' tradition in recent weeks, fans are threatening to boycott MLB over the divisive stunt that took place in New York.

Los Angeles Dodgers players also wore baseball caps with colors of the Pride flag mixed into the team's logo on Saturday, although pitcher Clayton Kershaw made a slight tweak to his hat.

Kershaw, who is a devout Christian, inscribed next to the LGBTQ+-inspired logo 'Gen 9:12-16' - which is a passage from the Bible that claims the rainbow was not created by God to represent that demographic.

New York and LA still pushing sodomy month, gee crazy.

23 year old SS Gunnar Henderson extends his hitting streak to 11 games tonight and is hitting .373 in the month of June after a slow start.

The other guy I’m hyped for is Athletics 1st baseman Nick Kurtz. Kurtz was the #4 overall pick from 2024 and is absolutely destroying the minors.
The 6'5 Kurtz was called up in late April and has hit 8 homeruns in 36 games. Not a bad start for the 22 year old rookie. The A's have a lot of young talent. I hope they can turn it in to a great team in the future.

Trout hit his12th HR today against the Yankees.
Yankees' Paul Goldschmidt a certain HOFer is batting .303 at 37 years old hit his 8th HR today. Going 2-4, 2 runs scored.
Cubs Crow-Armstrong his 20th HR/60 RBI
Schwarber his 23rd HR
Cal Raleigh his 27 HR and 6 RBI Tuesday evening!

In his first at-bat Thursday, Caglianone crushed his first career home run, a 387-foot shot in the second inning. He added to his milestone day with his second home run in the ninth inning, sending it out to right-center field again but higher into the crowd at 439 feet.

He crushed that ball - it was almost at shoulder level and he got around on it. Guess he likes the high stuff!
