New York Giants General Thread

I will say that McCarthy looked really good last preseason before his injury and I'm excited to see what he can do this year, especially having a topnotch head coach in Kevin O'Connell. I can easily see him having the same instant impact as Bo Nix did last season after he got a few games of experience under his belt.

Giants are going to be terrible again and Schoen and Daboll will be fired. Keeping them as lame ducks was foolish, as they are now signing bottom of the barrel free agents to try to save their jobs by mustering a few extra wins. The good news is that they hopefully won’t be drafting one of the overhyped black QBs and can possibly pick someone better next year.

Great article. His attitude is what more white athletes of all sports need. No fear and never back down from anyone. Extreme confidence!
If I had a dollar for every glowing report about a White player turning heads and blowing minds in preseason…only to get cut, put on practice squad, or relegated to special teams…I’d be retired.

I see. Is it possible there were no suitable numbers left to choose from or is this managements way of letting him know he will only be a smaller fullback? Lets hope it is only during camp and he will get to choose a more suitable number for a rb.

Brian Daboll's job depends on how well and how quickly he can develop Jaxson Dart. With Skattebo on the team I'll be rooting big time for both of them to do well as rookies.

Dart looks to be stepping into a "good" situation here. Daboll is high on him yet he doesn't have to step in as a starter on day 1. They've got our favorite Midget Wilson, Tommy DeVito and the always entertaining Jamies. Winston incidentally threw a pick on his first play in OTA's.

I do hope Dart is able to sit and learn some. QB development is not something that seems to happen much in the league anymore. The Giants selection of Dart in round one threw the NFL draft "experts" a curveball. Dart seems to have ended up in a good situation.

from the article: The more training camp reps New York Giants rookie Jaxson Dart stacks, the more impressive he looks. And the more impressive he looks, the more head coach Brian Daboll’s firm stance on starting Russell Wilson over him starts to look... questionable.

Russ was brought in on a one-year deal to be a placeholder for eventual starter Dart, but what if the 22-year-old is already ready to be thrown to the wolves? Yes, six years ago, the G-Men pulled the trigger too soon on the Daniel Jones experience, and that failed spectacularly. But this time feels different.

Dart’s been solid all camp. He’s finding his receivers, acing Daboll-schemed tests, and looking more comfortable in the pocket with each passing day. It’s been an encouraging run overall, but nothing he’s done up to this point matches the production or the show he put on Friday. Wowzers.

The Giants have on paper the toughest schedule in the league this year. They start out at Washington, at Dallas (who they always lose to), home against Chiefs and Chargers. I'd start Wilson those first batch of games, no matter what, and let him get the hell beaten out of him. Week 5 against New Orleans might be the best game to hand Dart the keys. Just my thoughts, as I don't want to see Jaxon's confidence get crushed early if this team is as bad as most people think.
