Feel free to check my work at MLB.com. All players accounted for in this servey come from the debth charts on the MLB website. The 40 man rosters were not used for this servey because many of the players on the 40 man rosters are considered to be inactive meaning that they will likely not appear in any games over the course of the season. Most inactive players will reamain in the "Farm Leagues" unless or until they are called upon by their respective team.

Once again, these rosters will change as the season progresses. You will notice that some teams do not have as many players as others do. MLB rules state that a team may have anywhere from 20 to 36 players on the active roster at any given point in the season giving ball clubs some flexibility.

The Atlanta Braves have had remarkable luck in developing local talent -- McCann, Francouer, McBride, Davies, and Boyer are all local products. In addition to being overwhelmingly White, the Braves are also an "Atlanta" team, which makes their appeal even stronger.

Why don't other major league organizations look in their own backyards for players instead of in some Caribbean sewer?

What happened to the Twins this year? They've always been one of the whiter teams in the league.

OC football: GREAT JOB

Very helpful for me to decide what games to watch and go to. Now if only that list was broken down by pitcher and non-pitcher.

I believe "Denver" is called the "Colorado Rockies".

My list obviously is not perfect. This is a discussion forum not the New York Times. The numbers there are about as accurate as you will find anywhere though. So lay off with the insults.

Still,... I'm wondering if the sudden whitening of the Bluejays has anything to do with the "I don't want to play in Toronto" syndrome that has crippled the Raptors for years.

Unfortunately, the vast number of nationally televised games will include the likes of the Yankees, Giants, Angels, Cubs, and Mariners. Don't count on seeing the Rockies, Blue Jays, Rangers, or Astros often. Still, MLB is "whiter" in 2006.

The Astros will have to be on t.v. I mean come on they won the N.L. pennant last year so they have to show them. So even if the networks privately dispise them for their "lack" of diversity the Astros record last year makes them a must see on tv. Also it seems as though the AL teams that are whitest like Clevland, Chicago, and Oakland all are frontrunners to win the A.L. Gee what a coincident.

J.B.'s late with his annual grades of white friendliness regarding the MLB teams. I really believe he has a family crisis going or something or else he would be on the ball, so to speak, here.

I wrote these and have done the baseball articles each year. Please remember that this is a free site; there are no employees, only volunteers. J. B. Cash gives of his time as he can, and he has given a whole heck of a lot of it. He has to earn a living like the rest of us. He doesn't have any "deadlines" to meet, okay?Edited by: Don Wassall

OK. Sorry, Don and J.B. I thought J.B. wrote them.

Quite all right John. I have busy with a new job which has cut into the time I can dedicate to castefootball. Everything is allright though.

Don should get credit for those great write ups he does on baseball, football, and basketball, as well as others. The man is an encyclopedia when it comes to this stuff, and a truly great writer. When you consider all the other things he is involved in it is really amazing.

There are many negative things going on in the world but when you consider the talent our people posses you really must take heart. It is the one great positive aspect of our dark times.
