Ingavaldsen just ran the 300m yesterday, in a pretty big meet in Norway. He came in 5th, against solid, but not exceptional, competition. I would have expected him to win that race.

    sprinters who peak early.

Oh my goodness, all you have to do is look at the 'High Schoolers' thread . . . about 80% of the sprinters mentioned there, were never as good/fast in college.

    Matthew Boling 9.98, 19.92, 44.84 and 8.25 LJ

If anything, probably the pressure. And I think Boling is the kind of guy that puts a lot of pressure on himself. And you're right, he is very tense when he runs. It doesn't help. But what kind of coaching did he get in Texas from a high school coach? Was it better than at the University of...

You can see Victoria's race starting at the 8 minute mark of this video. What's really impressive is that she didn't have her usual bullet start, but still managed to run down some of the fastest collegiate sprinters in the country. Another great performance from her.

    Matthew Boling 9.98, 19.92, 44.84 and 8.25 LJ

Yes, it's not too late. But he has been mostly running the 100m and 200m this year, and his performances have been mediocre (see his times this year, listed above)
