Livio Berruti, the 1960 Olympic 200m Champion, has passed away. He tied the world record twice at those Olympics, in both the semi-final and final. He was the first European to win this event at the Olympics.

South Africa fielded an all white team to win the silver medal in the men's 4x400m relay. Overall South Africa and Australia were very impressive at these U20 World Championships.

Meanwhile, on the girls' side, Anastazja Kuz of Poland won the gold medal, coming through on the home stretch with a NU20 record of 51.06.

Leendert Koekemoer of South Africa cruised to a time of 45.18 to win his semi-final at the World U20 Championships. He could have easily gotten under 45 flat, but he needs to save something for the final. He is one of the favorites along with 2 Americans.

Czechia and Australia took silver and bronze in the 4x400m Mixed Relay, both setting National Records.

Ferreira wins his semi-final in 10.13 (0.6w).

Australia looked good in the 4x400m mixed relay, coming 2nd to the USA in their heat. South Africa also came in 2nd in their heat, running (surprisingly) an all white quartet.

Marco Ferreira of South Africa won his heat at the U20 World Championships in 10.11 (1.2w). Chun Ting Kwok of Hong Kong and Wyatt Lee were 2nd and 3rd in the same time of 10.29.

Really a race to cherish and remember! Especially since it seems unlikely that Australia will field this same team in the future, with Browning getting older and Gout Gout and Nketia moving up their ranks.

Here is a video of the last time that Australia won the Men's 4x100m relay at the Commonwealth Games - 1974 in Christchurch, New Zealand. It also seemed like Scotland was on their way to Gold or Silver, until their last exchange.

Well the Aussies win the Commonwealth 4x100m Gold medal, winning in 38.07. Their team consisted of Lachlan Kennedy, Joshua Azzopardi, Calab Law, and Rohan Browning, in that order.
