I just read an interview with Coach Lubbick of CSU.He
said that he wants one of his 2 young running backs to
step up and become their star.I think that Bell is ready
for the task.He is a sophmore now and is a little bit
faster. He needs to lead by example and earn the starting
spot.Kyle has great size and strength.Good luck to him
in spring ball.

That would be awesome if he got the starting job. A white running back starting in those cool uniforms will be a site to behold.

Your talking about the guy with the weird name.I believe
that he still has one year left to.Kyle Bell has the
potential to be a superstar though like P.Hillis.

Here is a new article on Kyle Bell.It has a great picture
of him running the ball in spring practice. In the article
it talks about how he has been timed at 4.5 in the 40
and he will probably either be the #1 or #2 back on the
roster. They are also going to use 2 back sets so they
can get him more playing time.I can't wait to see what
this kid can do.Here is the link guys.

Good luck to Kyle Bell.

Does anyone here remember Steve Bartalo, the white halfback for CSU from 1983-86? That kid could RUN. He's still the Ram's all-time leading rusher and scorer with 4,813 yards and 294 points.

I see Kyle is 2nd on the depth chart this year so being a Rb he should get some decent playing time. The great news is that the starter this year is a senior and Bell is only a soph. so he should be starting for 2 years.

The guy ahead of Bell, Jimmy Green, was a highly touted recruit but has been pretty much of a bust for the Rams. Last season he only averaged 3.3 yards per rush (436 yards on 132 carries). Maybe Bell will become the number one back at some point in '05.

Lets hope that happens. It would be great if he had 2+ years to get ready for the NFL. They will play BYU in Provo this fall, so maybe I'll get to see him in action.

Good article WL. This guy sounds like he's a hoss. I bet he looks for those guys in the secondary rather than ducking out of bounds like some punk. That's how we white guys do it.

Great article on Kyle. I can't wait to see him play in Provo! I hope he breaks 1,000 yards this season.

Bell was the tailback for a good part of this game. In the spring he was #1 on the depth chart and then later slipped behind green who had 132 carries last year for a dismal 3.3 yard average. Somehow bell must have slipped behind yet another black RB as someone else started (?) but apparently limped off the field injured early in the 1st quarter. Bell is an awesome runner - the few carries he got he looked very fast and always got yards after contact. Green on the other hand looked slow. Unfortunetly CSU completely pissed this game away with turnovers late when they had a 10 point lead in the 2nd half. The coaches didn't helpeither. To me it looked like they had the opportunity to just run over the colorado defense at one time but instead they decided to pass too much. If you have a ten point lead in the 4th quarter and just ran for 7 or 8 yards on first down, shouldn't you just keep running and move the chains?

Interestingly the black announcer was the one who said that Bell was making a strong case to be the #1 RB.Edited by: Kaptain Poop

Bell had a great game with almost 70 yards rushing in only 14 carries. He had to split time with the other 2 backs. He will be the starter if they have any common sense. This kid can easily run for over 1000 yards as a sophmore.Very fast and powerfull runner. He punishes people!

When will a D-I team have the guts to feature a white RB for an entire game? Bell is an incredible talent and shouldn't have to share the ball at all.

Colorado State plays Minnesota this week. Should be an excellent chance for Bell to have a break-out game against a big ten team. Minnesota's defense is horrible.

Kyle is having a night to remember! I wish I could see it. I guess I'll have to wait 3 weeks and hope he starts against us. Anyway, he's got 33 carries for 182 yards and a TD with 4 minutes to go in the game! Way to run that ball Kyle!

Finally - at last! A white number one running back who is actually used like a feature back. I am glad my guess of 10 carries and running back by committee was wrong for once.
