Forgot to add that Trout showed off his amazing speed by turning a routine grounder into an infield hit last night as well.
He was 3/4, HR, D, 2 runs and an RBI. he' fifth in the league in BA: .385

Less than 24 hours after Trout hits HR number 5, he goes deep again to right center on the first pitch for number 6 in the bottom of the first against Texas.

Trout remains head and shoulders above his competition.

As long as he stays healthy, he will win another MVP award. He plate disciple increases year over year. He is the best hitter in baseball and still plays good defense.

He is truly a once in a generation talent and well on his way to placement on baseball’s Mt. Rushmore.

Thank you Carolina Speed. This updates are priceless to alot of us. Mike Trout is a man among boys and the most talented baseball player I have ever watched. If only I had his rookie cards. Hope he
continues on his tear. I hate seeing him miss games as he needs all the time he can get to try and catch some of the legends of the past. The biggest guy I would love for him to catch at the end is Barry Bonds.

    Trout now leading the AL in HR (6) , BA (.393), OPS (1.311), OPS+ (262), IBB (3)

Any season in MLB for a player that has over 200 OPS+ is considered legendary.

Terrific start for Trout, let's hope he can do this the rest of the year!

You're welcome WL. I feel the same way. He has missed a possible 195 games during his 10 year career due to Covid and injuries. He could be possibly sitting on 370 HR's already through his age 28 season. He has 308 HR's now. The great Babe Ruth had only 389 through his age 32 season. Bonds only had 298 HR's through his age 31 season. He is still ahead of Ruth's, Bond's, and Aaron's HR pace. He still has a chance, but he has to stay healthy and average a little over 40 HR's per season for the next 10-11 years to catch Bonds. A tall order , but he could do it.
I would also like to seem him pass Rickey Henderson's runs scored record. He was on pace early to smash that record when he was leading off and stealing bases, but he's now batting third and not swiping bases anymore, but he could still get to 2,000 runs. He will pass the 1,000 runs mark this season barring an injury.
I remember when Bo Jackson started playing MLB. Everyone just worshipped him as some super human. Trout doesn't get nearly the notoriety and yet he is so much better than Jackson.
Something that really gets my attention when watching Trout that has nothing to do with his hitting. When he hits a ball that's not going out of the park, an infield single, a double between the gap, he explodes out of the batters box like no one I have ever seen. Trout is the biggest fast MLB player I have ever seen. Go look up a highlight of Trout getting out of the box and tell me you've seen a human that big move that quick. That's what I still love about the game. Trout is one of those rare players who seems to play like it's his last.
I wasn't old enough to watch the great Mickey Mantle, but it seems like I'm watching a bigger, stronger, faster version and in this upside down world we're living in, it gives me a diversion and it's something of pure joy.
I would like everyone here, whether you want to watch MLB or not, take look at some Trout's highlights some time. Whether he breaks records or not, I believe he's the best baseball player of all time.

Oh Crap. Trout hit by a pitch from some Dominican named Christian Javier. Has been replaced in the line up. Hope it's not serious.

Trout scratched from tonight's game. He's listed as day to day with an elbow contusion.

That's too bad but the good news is he won't be out long. It seems to me that getting hit by pitches is getting alot more common. The umpires need to keep control
of the game for the players safety.

It looked like Trout left his elbow out and took the hit. If so, he needs to armor up like Barry Bonds.

Looks like Trout will be out for the third straight game. They're saying he will be back in the lineup tomorrow, but they've been saying that since Friday. The comment was made that Trout is not quite 100%. We've discussed some of the records Trout could potentially break. He will never accomplished this unless he either never gets a bruise, which is what they're saying this is...or he plays these minor injuries out. An elbow bruise. As much as I like Trout, I can't understand these guys not playing a little banged up. We're not talking hamstring or knee, it's a bruised elbow.
I'm in my mid fifties, I was bored out of my mind yesterday. I couldn't play golf because it was raining. So I went to my first love, the gym to lift some iron. I have a severely arthritic thumb joint. It's very difficult to grip and push weight with this kind of injury and it gets worse the older you get. I wrapped an Ace bandage with some ice around my thumb and wrist and proceeded to do about 12 sets of bench press up to 365lbs. About 50lbs. less than my max. I may be wrong, but if I can do that at my age, these baseball players can play with a bruise.
Call me out if I'm wrong.

You are spot on. It may be that the teams doctor won't allow him. I think this answer is more plausible as Mike Trout doesn't seem lke the Primadonna type. He is a man's man. He probably wants to play and they won't allow him to. Your
very strong Carolina Speed. Glad your still working out occasionally. That's very impressive. They say the last thing we lose is our power. Speed, jumping, coordination and flexibility goes quickly after the 30's to 40's but you can stay strong
    most of your life.

    Good news:

ngels superstar Mike Trout, who said he’s feeling better after being hit by a fastball on his left elbow on Thursday, returned to the Angels' lineup in the No. 3 spot for the series opener on Monday against the Rangers. Star third baseman Anthony Rendon, who's been out since April 10 with a groin strain, was activated from the injured list and also returned to the lineup, batting cleanup,
Trout missed three games with a bruised elbow, even though the pitch hit directly on his elbow pad. But he felt better on Monday after taking some swings on Sunday and said he's ready to go.

“It’s still a little sore but it's definitely improved the last few days," Trout said.
Trout, a three-time AL MVP and eight-time All-Star, also described what he felt after the ball hit his elbow. He initially remained in the game but was removed the next inning, as the discomfort worsened and didn’t improve as quickly as he had hoped.
“It hit me square on the pad,” Trout said. “It hit a nerve and from like my shoulder all the way to my fingers went numb and it just got progressively worse. They took me out of the game and got treatment, and then I came in the next morning, it was all right. Like midday, starting to swell up again. And then yesterday, it felt OK but felt it when I was swinging a little bit. I knew it was a day game and with a night game tonight, I wanted that extra time to recover.”
Trout also reiterated that he thought the fastball was a slider from lefty Cristian Javier and that’s why he turned his body as the pitch came closer him. Trout explained he was trying to protect his face because he doesn’t see the ball well at Minute Maid Ballpark.
“It was like a last-minute thing where I was trying to get out of the way,” Trout said. “I thought it was going to break and was running toward me. I was waiting for it to break and I thought it was going to hit me in the face. I definitely wasn’t trying to get hit.”

Trout seventh HR tonight, has now passed the great HOFer Paul Molitor on the all time WAR list. It took Molitor 21 seasons to acquire 75.7 WAR. Trout is at 75.9 WAR in less than 11 seasons. I had forgotten that Molitor was great base stealer, 504 steals and had over 3,000 hits. 3319 career hits

Trout hitting .429 while 33 for 77. He can't keep this up, but it will be fun to see how long he can stay above .400 this season.
