Yeah, it's an ancient thread. So what?
After plenty of digging, I found that this guy:

Bobby Tarr
ended up at DII Bentley University. He's a backup runningback with 126 yards on the season. But it's pretty obvious from their team stats that they use a spread passing attack.

I rather enjoy hunting down obscure data, so if anyone wants me to do a "where are they now" on any other player, just say so.

brandon bourbon has moved back up to 28th on rivals.com I still think he should be in the top 10 with the great season and combine he had.

Ryan Izzo is a guy who has impressed me alot, he don't get much hype but Boston College will likely sign him. Izzo is a Running back for Walpole in Massachusetts. Even though it is a small school in a nonfootball state Izzo is way above everyone else. Izzo's size isn't great he is 5'9 and now 185 and rivals has him listed as a two star back. They also say he runs a 4.6 forty, but we clocked him at 4.5(4.53) and the other one was 4.55, on back to back runs. His numbers are great 288 runs for 2534 yards 8.8 avg and 38 tds. However most of the games last year his team blew out the competition last year so he didn't play much in the second half. This year he is set to break every record in the state. Along with being a good rusher Izzo is also the best reciever in the state, he reminds many of wes welker.

This is what Scout has for Brandon Bourbon in his biography:

Brandon Bourbon finished his junior season with 248 carries for 2,420 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also had nine catches for 134 yards, earning All-Conference and All-Region honors. He says he can bench 310-pounds, squat 465 and claims a 38-inch vertical jump. Bourbon also runs track (10.4 100m; 22.3 200m; 21-11 long jump, 44-7 triple jump), but says he'll only play football in college.

A 10.4 100m is very impressive.

Stanford is stacking up on the runningbacks! If Bourbon and Gaffney can both pan out Stanford could become whiteRunning BackU. I know they have also recruited blacks at the rb position but none of them are as physically skilled or built as Gaffney and Bourbon. Btw Hawkeye thanks for the heads up on Rizzo

Massachusetts has produced many good runningbacks over the years, however they usually don't get too far. I've seen Izzo he is definitely Div. 1 material. But so was Barry Jeanson and Nathan Sherr. I don't know what happened to Sherr but Jeanson played safety for Northeastern behind a black runningback. As far as lineman are concerned, you are correct, MA is not the place to look.

Haha im sure most high school rosters in MA are filled with the lastnames McGee, O'Neil, and Donnelly. Maybe somebody from the Northeast could explain why MA is not a football hotbed. Is it too urban?

Massachusetts is go at letting white athletes play skill position though. I played Linebacker/RB my junior and senior year. When I was living in Miami it seemed like every school in south Florida even themajority white schools had a few white lineman and the rest of the team was black, but pretty much all the south seems to be like that. That is probably why Toby Gehart had to go to Stanford.
While Izzo probably won't get a chance to play at Boston College there are two other Massachusetts guys that will be in B.C. next year, First is James Mccaffrey. Mccaffrey is out of Cambridge, Mass and he has already commited. He is 5'11 185 and runs a 4.45 forty. While I don't have his stats he is being recruited as a safety next year. The other recruit that is expected to be signed is Mike Delaney. Delaney is 6'3 215 and runs a 4.5 forty. He is out of Foxboro High School and is a do everything guy, playing WR, RB, LB, and Safety. The problem for Boston College is deciding what to play him as.

There certainly are some huge Irish lads here. It is really the skill position players in Massachusetts that stand out though. Most runningbacks are either quick Irishman or Italians in Massachusetts for the most part, and you'd be surprised to hear that we actually do have a lot of stud runningbacks. David Leach is one of them, being one of the leading D3 rushers in the country for Framingham State College right now, reigning from Chelmsford, MA. Leach was overshadowed by the far superior Barry Jeanson when he played in high school, Jeanson coming from a D1A powerhouse Acton-Boxborough football team that won four superbowls in a row at one point. Nathan Sherr is another record holder from MA that came from Austin Prep High School, and has the record for the most points. For 2009-2010 there is Ryan Izzo, who will probably catch Sherr's TD record. There are some very quick backs in Massachusetts, usually white, and all the names I mentioned would easily eclipse a 4.6 40, some would dip below 4.4 and 4.5. Last year there were a couple runningbacks out of BC High named Tyler Horan and Kyle Ewanouwski who could each drag a whole team on their shoulders for a TD. Those guys could have easily played D1, but most of these white stud RBs just go and play lacrosse in college. Don't get me wrong, the D3 colleges would love to recruit these kids, but none of them got any scholarships to play RB. They've either quit, played D3 ball, had to try and walk on, or play safety. So in short Massachusetts is a hot bed for football. Just not for drafting white skill players, unfortunately.
