Are whitesbecomingirrelevant as consumers? The ads at my Yahoo mail account routinely feature blacks and minorities. K-mart, Target, Burger King, McDonald's, NFL footballads and commercials are all aimed at blacks. Just got a promo from my investment magazine with six people on the cover page, no white men, only women and racial minorities.White men don't matter anymore? Blacks are 13 % of the population but you'd think they were the majority.

The problem is that noone ever really complains if too many minorities are used in commercials. It is really just pandering to the politically correct lobby. Some minorities are effective in some advertising campaigns. The Orlando Jones 7-UP advertisments were hilarious for example. But some are just irritating, the All State commercial where that annoying black guy talks about good drivers making rates cheaper comes to mind. I told my one friend if I was ever to advertise some sort of product, it would be with a super fat white guy surrounded by nothing but hot minority chicks with big cans. Then they couldn't complain, and we get ours.

It's been this way in advertising for some time now,it just getsmore and more blatant. More Asians, hispanics and homosexuals than before too, but mostly blacks, blacks, blacks.


As someone who stops in the post office on a daily basis, I've gotten to the point where I just laugh at the official posters lining the walls. Nary a white man to be found on any of them -- except when they warn against a crime like I.D. theft, then it's always guess who pictured.

Many blacks in the commercials are dignified saints like Tiger Woods commercials and the announcer for AllState, or they are authority figures commanding whites, or they are young hip hoppers out being cool and impressing the girls. For every commercial that has a white man commanding or castigating a black subordinate there are about a thousand with a black man in charge ordering around whites, many of them geeks and social retards. Blacks are always cool, calm, confident and efficient. Another favorite is not racist but feminist, the white wife being in total control over her wimpish, emasculated, lazy, bumbling loser of a white husband. Some of these even show women hitting men, which of course is a complete taboo when reversed.

It really does seem like you can't watch anything on television these
days without being bombarded by blacks. What is most irritating is the
fact that almost all of the blacks we see on shows and commercials
speak with that super-annoying, ebonics-laced "accent" we've come to
know and love. Having these grammatically-challenged "spokespersons"
setting the cultural tone in Don King's America sets a terrible example
for children of all races.



One white actor I am really sick of is the chubby, super wimpy guy who
is seen everywhere on commercials now. He was the guy we discussed on
another thread some time ago who sneaks into a locker room and steals a
bunch of dirty football jerseys, then waddles away in a manner that
should offend all white men everywhere. He has also been front and
center in those awful Capitol One commericals, usually paired with the
talentless and obnoxious David Spade, who browbeats him and orders him
around as he does his thing (stumbles and stutters, obeys all orders,
can barely walk, etc.) I predict a very big future in acting for this
clown. I guess that's one of the few ways in today's world that white
actors can achieve any success.

Bigunreal, I know exactly who you are speaking of and totally despisethose commercials. We see the image of the clueless, dorky, white, incompetent slob everywhere. Blacks are often seen as hip and smart problem solvers dispensing wisdom to the whites who wish they could be as smart and cool.


Did you see the one with the old black executive marching through the office and this goofy white guy parades before him and knocks himself out slamming his head into an open drawer? Then the the black gives him one of those, boy are you dense looks.

It's a no lose situation for the corporations. Putting blacks in the commercials may appeal to blacks, but won't turn away whites. Only if and when whites become racially aware will things change....

As for that movie, at least that guy is Jewish. Yech.

Can you imagine the uproar in the media if they portrayed a black male in an idiotic, unintelligent light? They (Sharpton, Jackson, Mfume) would call for a boycott of the product and the network!

One would have to be blind to miss this trend. It has gotten so
bad that even IF you see a White male in a commercial, he is played for
a fool.



I can't remember the name of the company, but I saw a commercial last
night that featured an employee meeting where a young, kool, smooth
brutha flawlessly rattles off his proposed solution to a complex,
highly technical problem, while his middle-aged White dumb-a*s of a
boss stares at him with a mixture of bleary-eyed confusion and complete
reverence. You know, just like in real life -- the real players
in American business aren't the square White men that built the
companies, but rather the highly intelligent, highly motivated blacks,
who never would have been given a chance were it not for affirmative
action.



The Soviet Union didn't have anything on the modern-day USA when it
comes to Marxist propaganda...just because a private company produces
it doesn't mean it ain't propaganda.

I found a comment posted at -Amren- which fits in very well with this thread. It was in response to a story about Bush's 2% disapproval rating among blacks.


These idiots! Who cares about the black vote?! Somewhere between 25-50% of black males, depending on the district, can't vote anyway because of their felony convictions, or so I've read. They're at most 12% of the population anyway, have never voted conservative, and the stupid Republicans don't seem to understand that by "reaching out" and toadying to the meaningless and statisically irrelevant "black vote", they just alienate people like me. They ought to go hunting where the ducks are, the imbeciles. There's 200 million of us, for god's sake.
Same with advertising: if I see a black drinking, wearing, eating or driving in some brand name, I write it off immediately as I don't want to be associated with their tastes and culture. I wonder if the liberal advertising execs ever stop to calculate how much white business they drive away with their diversity-laden ads. How much white business do they think they attract showing blacks in ads? Is a picture of some black in a Hathaway shirt likely to make you run out and buy one? How about some blacks in a Cadillac - that's real power marketing, isn't it? Going to drink more Colt .45? Smoke more Cools? Want to buy a watermelon?

My own idiot company's ads show black financial advisors sitting across the desk from affluent white clients. How often do you think that happens? They've spent their entire life working, saving, and building for their future - and now they're going to listen to a black tell them how to invest it?! Sure....Do you have any idea how many blacks can pass the NASD/NYSE Series 7 exam to become stockbrokers? Care to hazard a guess? I'll help you: About as many as there are ace fighjer pilots and world-class yachtsmen.

Prime time TV is no different. From black cops who head up all police departments, and forensic scientist postions, to dumb white male cops who have to be pointed in the right direction by streetwise black females cops, to security alarm commercials whereby a black cop shows up top protect a white family form a white criminal.....thus do I call TV the UNREALITY MACHINE!

Again someone pointd out the true problem. It's not the black actors or even the chosen media execs, it's the white consumers who continually tolerate it.
