The Huskies have had 8, 6, 6 ,8 ,8 ,7, 8, 7, 8, 8, 8, 6 and 6 white starters since 2005. They are projected to start 5 in 2021. In 2020 UCONN did not have a season - they cancelled due to the "pandemic".

UCONN is now an independent. Not much to root for on this roster - no White DBs, very few white DL, 2 white LBs and a couple of white WRs. This is a struggling program that lost it's conference affiliation and it looks like Edsall is recruiting Florida rather than the Northeast for the overlooked White athletes that could potentially help the program...the status quo for all of college football.

DL Aaron Lange, LB Hunter Webb

Offense
QB - Jack Zergiotis/Steven Krajewski ***UCONN has yet to name a starter - these were the two QBs who played the most in 2019.
TE - Jay Rose
LT - Ryan VanDenmark
LG - Dylan Niedtrowski
RT - Valentin Senn

Defense
None

Pure desperation in bringing back Edsall. This program is on life support.. If their Basketball Tradition wasn't there, I think they would have dropped to FCS by now..Kind of crazy to see such a decline.

Doesn't help as you've mentioned that their recruiting is SE eccentric.. Bringing in affletes that have no connection to the area, really smart. No matter what state/city you're in. It's a good idea to build up that recruiting wall around your area!

Yep. Plenty of blue collar areas in all of New England that could be recruiting white athletes - not to mention Pennsylvania who always produces great White high school athletes that are ignored by the in-state division 1 schools. They all just recruit from Florida - because the affletes down there are all magical and full of upside.

Edsall retiring at seasons end. Convenient timing considering they just lost to an FCS team from the same geographic region - Holy Cross who actually played some White athletes.

Ha! Funny timing for sure. In my opinion, why wait?

Looks like your opinion mattered lol!

UConn HC Randy Edsall, who announced that he would retire at season's end on Sunday, will instead step down immediately.
Edsall made his decision to retire in the aftermath of the Huskies' 38-28 home loss to Holy Cross. However there's been a change of plans, with the coach and AD David Benedict announcing that he will leave the program, effective immediately. Defensive coordinator Lou Spanos will serve as the interim head coach in Edsall's absence. While his first run as UConn head coach was successful, with Edsall leading the program from then-Division I-AA to I-A (with two Big East titles and a Fiesta Bowl appearance), the second was not. UConn is now 6-36 since Edsall returned to lead the program in 2017.
