As an alumni of UGA it is again with great sadness that I make this report. Since 2005 Georgia has started 5,5,5,5,5,6,2,8,7,8,7,4 and 3 Whites. This year the number remains at a pathetic 3 starters:

QB--Jake Fromm
TE--Charlie Woerner
RG--Ben Cleveland

So the Bulldogs will look pretty much like last years edition with Woerner replacing Nauta at the TE position. Sad.

Thank northwinds. I will try to cheer you up with some sort of fake optimism but this is a caste wall team.

Fromm is probably a first round QB pick. I am most interested in the development of TE Woerner. He has untapped athleticism that might finally get exploited this season.

But yes this is a bleak landscape. Does having the cutest ( in my book) mascot in all of college football mean anything? I thought not. Then again Uga almost got killed last year by a Texas longhorn during their bowl game. Some idiots thought it would be a good idea to have the steer slap fives with a bulldog. What could go wrong?

I really like Fromm as a pro prospect. Reminds me alot of Drew Brees. Other than that UGA is just another run of the mill SEC team and has been for quite awhile.

>Biggest disappointment has been LB Nate McBride (wears #22) now a Jr. still buried on the Depth Chart. A HS Phenom RB & Kick Returner/Track star at 6'-2" 223lbs. running " 10.6 100 meters". Should be getting an opportunity to crack the RB rotation...but looks like he's stuck unless he transfers. Too much talent to waste away simply playing Special Teams!!

Jr. Walk-on RB Hudson Prather always looks good in the Spring Games ; but only gets token carries at the end of Rent-a-Win games during the regular season.

Have been saying if Christian McCaffrey had gone to an SEC school instead; none of those coaches would have had the stones to try him at "Tailback"...instead moving him to the Caste Appropriate "Slot WR". I'm still thankful a coach like David Shaw gave him the opportunity to star as a Tailback!

Freshman D-End Bill Norton (6'-6" 285) should be one to watch!

Who would have thought we would long for the Mark Richt days with as many as 8 white starters on offense (of course only two on defense the entire time, Pollack and Ganus).

Out of sight out of mind. I remember CF posting about him when he was being recruited. One silver lining. One fairly reliable source indicates he is the prime MLB back up so perhaps we will see an actual white person playing defense for the Bulldogs.

I guess we have a new "category" for white "scrubs." Spring Game Warriors!. In fact that is something I have noticed the past couple of years whether it be Penn State, Nebraska or others where white RBs, WRs and DBs are running around on the field only to disappear like vapor when the "real season" begins. Oddly most of these so called scrubs look good in these games but I guess the coaches had their "heads turned" during their key moments. I recall seeing Prather to and coming away impressed. He will most likely revert back to being the invisible white player when the season starts.
