2026 MLB Season

Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski pitches complete game one hit shutout with 15 strikeouts against the Phillies. Better than Skenes and Ohtani? The Phillies need to get Skubal at the trade deadline.

Awesome! Had no clue about about Eldridge. Thanks for putting the CF spotlight on him.
Yes, I had been tracking Eldridge somewhat before this GS. Before this it was being questioned if he should've been promoted to the League as if he was not quite ready. His BA was really low, but he's shown the critics they were wrong. He's currently batting .316.
5 HR's!
Another one to watch is Seattle Mariners SS/3B Colt Emerson. He was called up at just 20 years old has 5 homeruns in his first 69 AB's. That's an even better rate than Eldrige. 5 HR's in 98 AB's. However, Emerson needs to bring that average up, .232 although again he's just 20. Could be another Superstar.

20 year old Emerson does it again. His 6th homerun in his first 22 games!

Cubs Pete Crow-Armstrong hits for the cycle tonight against Colorado! He's been on a tear since becoming the lead off hitter!
Mike Trout 16th HR and career number 420!
Nick Kurtz 17th HR!

I'm happy Trout homered for the 2nd time in 3 games but he is still in a horrible slump overall. I still think he should have his eyesight
checked as he strikes out so much. Part of it is frustration being stuck on what is one of the worst teams in all of baseball. What a shame
that his final years will probably be playing for a team that has no direction. Coming into the season I had hopes that Trout could have
a monster year and be at 450 homers at the end of the year. He would need to hit 30 more which is unlikely with his many slumps. I will
never stop rooting for the guy. Let's see how the rest of the season plays out.

PCA is back to top form again!

Kurtz had a 2nd homerun and is up to 18. He’s also leading MLB is OBP and is 2nd in OPS. At only 23 years old, he’s one to watch climb the career homerun leaderboard (54 and counting).

Edit to add: he’s also 1st in MLB in RBI, which is extra impressive considering he bats lead off or 2nd most days.

Yankees Paul Goldschmidt is quietly having a great season. At almost 39 years old the future HOF hit his 10th HR this evening and slashing .298/.367/.547. Amazing!
Kyle Schwarber hit his league leading 25th HR this evening!

Trout hit his 17th HR last night. Giving him 421 for his career. He is on pace for 37 home runs this season which would give him 441 career by seasons end. Not too far off from 450. He is currently 9-for 28 in his last 7 games for a .321 average. Prior to that he has went several games without a hit.
MLB batting averages are at a historical low range from .239 to .248. This is the lowest since 1968.
Currently there's only 8 players in the entire league batting over .300.
In 1980 when George Brett won the league batting title hitting .390, there were between 33-48 players that finished the season at .300 or better depending on which source you look at. Some are counted and some are not based on the official number of AB's, I think?
Trout began his career hitting for a .299 average or above in 6 of his first 7 seasons. I wish his average, currently .233 was better, but I don't think at this point in his career he's ever going to get close to .300 again.
Hopefully he stays healthy and gets to 500 or possibly close to 600 homeruns. Would be a phenomenal feat based on the number of seasons he's missed in the prime of his career.
