It's about time for the world's best golfer to have a thread on Caste Football. Scottie Scheffler has been on an all-time run of greatness the past several years, during which he's been as good as Tiger Woods in his peak year of 2000, the one Rich Lerner and Brandon Chamblee spend a large portion of their on-air time still talking about and pining for. Meanwhile, Scheffler is in the here and now and receives about 1/20 the attention and acclaim Woods always has, if that.

In 2025, Scheffler won 6 of the 20 tournaments he entered, including 2 majors. And he led the PGA Tour in scoring average for all four rounds, something not accomplished since Woods in his heyday year a quarter century ago. Scheffler is dominating at a historic pace and one can only hope the fire within continues to burn for a number of years as he could enter the elite stratosphere of the sport occupied by Woods, Nicklaus and a few others, and he's doing it at a time when the Tour seemed to have entered a state of lasting parity that would not allow an individual golfer to do what Scheffler is accomplishing.

Scottie with only 139 events played is already top 10 among “active” players. Realistically, only Rory and maybe Dustin are threats to increase their totals but I think Scheffler will pass them in a few years.

Scheffler's winning percentage is phenomenal, again rivaling Woods at his peak and now well ahead of him overall as Tiger began declining many years ago.

I don't know the source of that chart but titling it "active players" is the stretch of the year. Besides Scottie, only McIlroy is still active on the PGA Tour. Mickelson and Johnson are on LIV and Phil is in his mid-50s now, while Els and Singh play only on the senior tour and Norman and Watson are in their 70s and long retired. I don't know if Davis Love plays on the senior tour but he too is now over 60 and retired from the PGA Tour. At least 85 year old Jack Nicklaus wasn't listed as "active" :)

Haha, yea it’s Statmuse. They are generally great for other sport lists.

Here’s a better list that doesn’t include all the guys who’ve aged out of the tour. Woods will be off here soon too.

The win % per events entered is amazing for Scottie. He is definitely outpacing Woods during his run in late 90's, early 2000's. Scottie is on an incredible pace with multiple majors as well. He is really a feel player. If he stays healthy over the next 6-10 years he has an opportunity to outshine the best not to mention he is an awesome "high character" person.
