The Suns traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets. Why do I like this trade? According to espn.com, Reed Sheppard will now be the starting shooting guard on their latest depth chart. Hope this holds true. The Reed Sheppard as potential to be a star as he is dynamic inside & outside. The Rockets will now have Alpert Sengun & Reed Sheppard as 2 of the 5 starters! The Suns got two players, the number 10 draft pick in the 1st around and multiple 2nd round picks. I think the Suns got the better deal as Durant is 36 years of age.

Doesn’t involve any of our guys, but Milwaukee just cut Damian Lilllard. He was set to make 54 mil rehabbing a torn Achilles. Instead looks like Milwaukee will just buy out his remaining 113 mil. Monopoly money… Looks like AJ Green will be sole honkey seeing minutes for Milwaukee next season. Milwaukee also managed to sign Myles Turner away from Indiana. Again not sure where they are coming up with all this money. lol

*Pat Connaughton traded to Charlotte for future picks which Milwaukee is in dire need of. As they traded away everything for Lillard. Looks like Bucks got Vasilije Micic. So he may see some decent backup minutes at PG.

Luka Garza to Boston! His racial apprenticeship may finally be over!
Yes, I would imagine he is the cost efficient replacement for Luke Kornett, who got 41 million over 4 years from the Spurs. The Celtics liked Kornett but got priced out. So should be a win-win from our perspective.

Some White players, not mentioned yet, on the move:

Sandro Mamukaleshvili to the Raptors to serve as backup center. (Poeltl resigned for big money).

Mason Plumlee to Charlotte. Hornets Whitening up a lot. Should serve as a veteran mentor to Kalkbrenner.

Luke Kennard to the Hawks on a 1 year deal. Will highly factor into the rotation.

Jake LaRavia to the LA Lakers.

Aging big man Brook Lopez to LA Clippers to backup young talent Zubac.

Ty Jerome to the Grizzlies on a 3 year deal. A good spot if injury-prone, bonehead Morant Tom Iron’s himself out of the way.

Good to see Kornet get paid! One of the best backup bigs in the League last season. Win/win situations are nice

Laravia to LA is a great landing spot. Should garner himself some much needed exposure.

Kennard landing a 1yr deal worth 11 mil from Hawks isn’t too shabby! Another White SG that isn’t “good defensively” but can shoot lights out.

Not the best team for him but at least he got paid nicely. He is the best bench sharp shooter in the NBA in my opinion.
I like it because he’ll obviously get good minutes there on a playoff caliber team and it frees up a logjam on the Heat. Jovic, Larsson and Jaquez jr all sort of play the same SG / SF position.

Hopefully it helps all players thrive.

Definitely open up some minutes for Heat’s younger core of overachievers. They have Kasparas coming in as well. Since 2019 Robinson is 8th in NBA in 3 pointers made. He’s established himself as one of the best sharpshooters.
