The Pirates have the worst owner in pro sports. He'll either trade Skenes early on in his career, or closer to when he can become a free agent. His m.o. is to have one of the lowest payrolls and make a nice profit from attracting 1.5 million or so fans to watch a team that's terrible year in and year out with very few exceptions. Players that develop are traded before they can make the big bucks, for prospects and the endless cycle of permanent "rebuilding" begins anew. The Buccos have had something like 3 winning seasons since Bob Nutting bought the team. It's been 33 years since the Pirates won a division title, 46 years since their last World Series win, and those streaks will continue as long as Nutting owns the team.Would be nice to see Pittsburgh supply him with some talent on offense before he gets plucked by one of the coastal powers.
Yikes. Pittsburgh baseball fans are long overdue for some success. Looks like it won’t happen until one of the worst owners in any sport, kicks the bucket lol.The Pirates have the worst owner in pro sports.
