In your opinion, what do you think is the most significant sports achievement by a white person was this past year?

Its not a White individual, but the Patriots winning the Super Bowl again was a huge victory because they are perceived by blacks and DWFs as being "White" team.
 
If you bundle the trio WR gang of Edelman, Amendola and Hogan together I would put them right up there with Federer.

Pats definitely get the nod as best white team. We all know their defense is dark but they consistently put out exciting offenses for us to cheer for year after year! They look to be destined for AFC Championship showdown with Steelers once again!
 
I will nominate white sprinter Ramil Guliyev winning the gold medal at the 2017 World Championships of Track & Field in the 200 meters! No white sprinter had won a gold medal at this level since Kostas Kenteris won the same medal at the olympics way back in 2000.

Wow! Ya'll have named quite a few so far. Several are hard to beat, especially CM being drafted 8th overall as a white RB. However, I will throw out Mike Trout. It's really all I need to say. The most complete white MLB player since Mickey Mantle! He's already shattering and setting records, but I'll just give you one from last season.
Trout became the youngest MLB player, (25), in history to hit 200 HR's and steal 150 bases. He did this despite missing 50 games last season. Probably not the most significant, but is right up there.
BTW, he's doing all this without steroids and he plays in a lousy hitters ball park. A tremendous talent! Once in a lifetime.
 
Lomachenko being named best PFP fighter of the year by most boxing writers for 2017! Is yuge.

Another feat of fortitude, endurance & courage by the White man.
 
I want to give Mikaela Shiffrin a mention. She broke the women's slalom wins record when she won her 36th slalom race this year. She won 15 races this year and 27 out of 33 races altogether. The men's record is 40 wins, so barring injury, she should break it in 2019. Also, she is only 23 years old.
 
Chris McCaffery rushing for 1000 yds and having 100 receptions, only the third running back to do so.

Wrong year but I like this. Only White men can do these type of things.
