I thought we should start a new thread on this one. I hope the regulars return. I see Kovalev taking this fight easily as Pascal doesn't have any firepower.

Pascal is no slouch but he doesn't have the legs and wind to stay out of Kovalev's range and be able to come into his own range to do any damage to Kovalev. Eventually, Kovalev's long range guns will bust down Pascal to full fall.

Kovalev should start dominating his fight around rd 5. I expect a brutal stoppage come rd 9 with the possibility of Pascal's corner stopping it or throwing in the towel.

Yes, I agree. How much does he really want to take?

Super excited about this fight!

I've never thought Jean Pascal was any good. He was comprehensively outboxed by Hopkins twice, beaten down by Froch, and his biggest wins aren't so good when you really get down to it (Dawson was never any good, Bute was old). Jean Pascal doesnt hit very hard, he's not good defensively, and his stamina is horrible. He always fades in the late rounds, and even in the later portions of individual rounds.

Pascal ' s best attribute is his chin. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall him ever even being dropped in a fight. Though, he was rocked by Froch, Hopkins, and Bute.

Kovalev hits harder, better technically, better defensively, and speed wise may even be a bit quicker. The only advantage Pascal has in this fight is his chin and maybe hometown judging (provided it goes to the cards).

Pascal ' s tough, but he takes shots, and that's a no - no with Kovalev.

Prediction: Kovalev knocks him spark out.

I'm not worried about the judges if this fight goes to the cards. The judges in what was basically Hopkins hometown, couldn't even find one round to give him. Kovalev won't leave any doubt even if it goes 12.

Kovalev should break Pascal down. He's basically guarding the gate for Stevenson, who's scared sh*tless of Kovalev.

Max Kellerman will be discrediting Kovalev, Glazkov and Lephikin on Saturday.

He'll claim they have an unfair size advantage, even though their opponents are in the same weight division!

Yeah that makes listening to these babblers while we watch the fight more interesting. We're on to them.

Kovalev shoved Pascal today after the negro tried messing with his hat. Is there even one negro athlete that has any class and shows sportsmanship?

In recent months, Pascal has been working with the notorious chemist and PED guru Memo Heredia.

Juan Manuel Marquez became much stronger and knocked out Pacquiao after working with Heredia.

Pascal and Heredia refused VADA testing (VADA is the only organization that ever catches boxers on designer PEDs).

Pascal looks artificial in the photos but that could also be from boil down. He's carrying a lot of muscle and that's not necessarily a good thing because more muscle takes more oxygen. Either boil down or PEDs, he has to carry that muscle laden frame for 12 rounds and that will drain him or the boil down will.

At the weigh in today Kovalev gave the middle finger to Pascal lol.

He's alert and motivated to destroy. Against Hopkins he mostly wanted to showcase his boxing skills against the very skilled veteran. Now, he's back to the hunt. I foresee Kovalev fire his deadly long range power shots on Pascal and landing at least 40% of them; 10% will be partially blocked and still batter Pascal; 10% will be fully blocked and weaken him; 40% will be misses. By knockout or by beat down, either way Kovalev is going to win.

Does anyone have a stream link for this fight? I'm in Calgary and it's unlikely any bars will be showing the fight. I'd greatly appreciate it.

On the fight, I suspect Pascal will be outclassed, take a lot of punches, and likely stopped or knocked out.

Kovalev is by far the harder puncher.
Kovalev is also better technically and defensively.
In terms of movement and speed I'd also say Kovalev has an advantage.

Anything can happen in boxing, and Pascal is a tough guy who can take a punch, but I don't think Pascal has much of a chance in this fight.

I think Kovalev dominates and puts him down hard. Kovalev KO 8.
