Zach Penprase

I think people here at caste can relish the irony of this tid bit but the leading stolen base collegian is Zach Penprase. He plays for Miss. Valley State which is a black college. Not the first white baseball player to play at a black college though. He is out of the suburbs in California so not sure how he ended up at MV State. Whatever, he has speed.

Interesting tidbit!

I checked out the MVSU athletics website, which has a picture of the entire team, and I was surprised to find that the baseball team is majority White: at least 16 out of 25 players are White, and 2 others look vaguely White (or mixed). The coach is White, I think.

This reminds me of the black college in Florida (I cannot remember the name of the shcool) that fielded a nationally-ranked golf team a few years ago...comprised entirely of Whites.
