Just a conversation my dad & I had this weekend...I see both sides but am curious as to what others think....

If You were a pro-boxer & you had your opponent back into a corner & knocked out on his feet & the referee didn't come in to stop it yet...Would you stop & look at the ref to come in & stop the fight or would you continue to pound your opponent until he's on the mat or the ref does come in to stop??

If you stopped early & looked at the ref to step in wouldn't you be considered "Soft" or not having "Killer Instinct"??..People might not be intimidated by you either which can be a huge advantage to have some afraid of you...

I seen some old fights of George Foreman & he stopped & looked at the ref...Afterwords he said he didn't want to kill the guy...He thought he had a couple of dudes beat up bad enough that he felt any more punishment might have caused them serious damage including death....

Anyhow, I think you stop & wave the ref in maybe, my dad says you continue to pound away until the ref stops, dude hits the mat, or they throw a white towel in...Edited by: Doc Holliday

Both.

Hit him, gesture at the ref, hit him again, gesture at the ref.. until the ref stops it or the guy crumples to the canvas. Sometimes a fighter will keep a guy on his feet by hitting him with alternating rights and lefts. If he is aware enough to wave the ref, maybe a few hooks with the same fist will put him down.
