Yahoo Sports decides to get in on some boxing news and throw it's weight behind the idea that whites are still invisible in pro boxing. Only one white boxer in their top ten. Typical. The media must be scared that word is getting out to the 'sheeple' about the white revolution in boxing.

Up next: Fights No. 6 Miguel Cotto for WBA welterweight title in New York on Nov. 10.
2007 results: W12 over Luis Collazo on Feb. 10 to win WBC interim welterweight title.
Analysis: Once considered the pound-for-pound best, Mosley rebounded from back-to-back losses to Winky Wright in 2004 by winning his last five fights.

9. Israel Vazquez

Status: WBC super bantamweight champion.
Up next: Nothing decided, but a rubber match with Rafael Marquez is likely.
2007 results: TKO by 7 by Marquez on March 3 to lose WBC super bantamweight title; TKO 6 over Marquez on Aug. 4 to regain WBC super bantamweight title.
Analysis: Voters were impressed by his war with Marquez and his ability to overcome a loss suffered when a nose injury prevented him from breathing.

8. Winky Wright

Status: Middleweight contender
Up next: Nothing certain, but plans a return to middleweight.
2007 results: Lost unanimous decision to Bernard Hopkins in a July 21 light heavyweight bout.
Analysis: Wright would have been No. 2 or No. 3 on this list in January, but is now just 1-1-1 in his last three fights. It's not a good trend.

7. Jermain Taylor

Status: WBC, WBO middleweight champion
2007 results: Retained title with unimpressive split decision over Cory Spinks on May 19.
Up next: Fights mandatory challenger Kelly Pavlik in a battle of power punchers on Sept. 29 in Atlantic City.
Analysis: Taylor has a lot to prove, but Pavlik is a perfect style for him and the fight figures to be a shootout.

2007 results: Scored an eighth-round knockout of Jorge Solis in a tuneup fight on April 14.

Analysis: The fast-handed Filipino is popular because of his aggressive style, but faces a big challenge in Barrera in his next outing

Status: WBC welterweight champion
2007 results: Won WBC super welterweight title by winning split decision over Oscar De La Hoya on May 5
Up next: Will meet super lightweight champion Ricky Hatton on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas.
Analysis: Mayweather is the best in the business and the Hatton fight will be a one-sided affair that will prove that point.

Ricky Hatton (43-0, 31 KO) who just won his last fight with a fourth round KO is absent, while Manny Pacquiao who's been KOed twice is there at #2. Mikkel Kessler is 39-0 with 29 KO, but in their minds ranks behind Winky Wright, who is 1-1-1 in his last three fights. They allow the all time great, Joe Calzaghe in at #3 as the token white guy.

White fighters who belong in the top 10 p4p:

Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe, Mikkel Kessler, Wladimir Klitschko, and possibly Kelly Pavlik.

I would think that they would have Hatton, Klitschko and possibly Kessler on the list instead of Wright, Mosley and possibly Vasquez. Breaking down the Yahoo top 10 list from their top to bottom as I see it.

Floyd - though he doesn't take chances and is kinda boring to watch, he has to be on a top 10 list. Hatton will give him all he can handle.

Pacquiao - blown out competetion for the past 3 years, top 10.

Joe - longest running champion in any division, has to be there. I would put him past Pacquiao for #2 if he beats Kessler.

JM Marquez - good fighter, he is a top 10er but ranked a bit high. Lost to a unknown Indonesian fighter though but has looked good of late. Pacquiao will blow him out if they fight again.

Hopkins - beat Winky. Top 10 though I think he is now starting to show some age and maybe should not be ranked as high.

Cotto - another fringe top 10er. Decent figher but until he beats Shane, I don't think he should be on here yet. Chin is also a question.

Taylor - really looked shaky and I thought he lost to Spinks. Hopkins had a case that he beat him. He is in reality a fringe top 10er but until someone officially puts a L on him, he unfortunately has to be there somewhere. Pavlik would be top 10er once he beats him.

Wright - Lost to Hopkins, he should not be on the top 10 list anymore. Nuff said.

Vasquez - looked great in upsetting former top 10ers Rafeal Marquez. He beat the man of the 118 lbs. division and I think if he wins again against Marquez in the rubber match, he should be in the top 10er. But I would say just outside the top 10.

Mosley - good fighter and if the winner of his fight with Cotto should be on the list but until then I don't think that he should be on there.

Again I am not saying what top 10 positions they should be in but just stating who should be in the top10 in no particular order.Edited by: mrjohnnynofear

Yep. You've got their number! And Wlad isn't even on that idiot list!

That "pound for pound" is a load of crap anyway. It's just a list of somebody's favorite boxers, that's all. I believe it was invented by the useless Ring magazine (which should have gone out of business as soon as the internet started) as a way to fill up some of their copious empty space.
