World Titles held by White Boxers

Sadly, after last weekend, there are now just 15 world titles from middleweight to heavyweight in the hands of White boxers.

On Friday we lost the WBC Light Heavyweight title, as Adrian Diaconu was defeated by the Haitian-Canadian Jean Pascal.

On Saturday, a reportedly weight-drained Hugo Garay lost his WBA Light Heavyweight title to a black fighter who lives in Spain, Gabriel Campillo.

On the positive side, on Saturday Wladimir Klitschko won the vacant Ring heavyweight title.

There is a world title fight in the near future involving a white boxer: on Saturday, Arthur Abraham defends against the Turkish middleweight Mahir Oral.Edited by: JD1986

Campillo was beaten by Vyacheslav Uzelkov who is 20-0 a white back. I don't expect Campillo to hold that title for long.

Sad news about losing a couple of titles, but I doubt it will last very long. The next couple of years look pretty good for white fighters.

I agree Colonel, it won't last long. Just a slight dip in the index. There are just too many white killers from middle up to not control most if not all the belts.

Maple Leaf I see those two losses as only a bump in the road. The fighters who lost were not world beaters. The title reign of those black fellows who beat them, will be short lived. This time next year they (black fighters) will be a small footnote in the grand scheme of things.

I hope a kick ass white light heavyweight emerges and begins clean up this division.

I agree with everyone else, there are so many good white boxers out there that they should be able to win these back. The main thing I worry about is a fighter to be able to sit on their belt and not actively defend it, like black cruiserweight Jones, who hasn't fought since Sept 2008, and isn't even scheduled for his first defense yet, and holds a belt. Call it inactive beltholder syndrome.Edited by: referendum

Adamek should go for a unification with Jones and take his belt away. Jones is a coward and I doubt he would accept the fight. Igor Michalkin could win a belt at light heavyweight and will get a title shot soon. Clinton Woods may get another title shot against Tavaris Cloud for the belt Chad Dawson relinquished. I think he will beat Cloud.

I've read Campillo's mandatory is Juergen Braehmer, who has an excellent chance of defeating him.

It's good to see there are some up-and-coming white light heavyweights with potential, like Uzelkov and Cleverly.

now that there is a drop in white boxing title holders, i bet the media will start showing interest in boxing again.

White fighters will continue their dominance-this is just a temporary, slight downturn in the number of world championship belts our men hold.

We are back up to 15 belts from middleweight up. Marco Huck impressed today with a great performance. We can go up to 18 soon if we win upcoming fights. We also have huge fights coming up with Haye vs Valuev, Pavlik vs Williams and of course the super middleweight tournament.

Valuev is facing Haye. I don't know about this one. I think Haye will probably win as Valuev seems lazy lately. Pavlik should beat Paul Williams as Williams is the one going up in weight into Pavlik's territory. Brudov will beat Guillermo Jones so all belts at cruiserweight will be whites. Silvio Branco probably doesn't stand a chance against Pascal as he is over 40 and Pascal only 26. Abraham, Kessler, and Froch will dominate their black opponents.

Heavyweight:

- Wladimir will KO Chambers
- Vitali will probably KO Arreola
- Haye will likely win a decision over Valuev.

Cruiserweight:

- Fragomeni will likely lose to Wlodarzcyk if the officiating is fair
- Jones-Brudov is a tough one to call
- Adamek will defeat Cunningham again
- Huck will decision Afolabi.

light heavyweight

- Branco will lose to Pascal
- I'm not sure who is fighting Campillo or Cloud
- Erdei-Brahmer is too close to call.

super middleweight

- Froch will probably stop Dirrell, but could lose a decision
- Kessler will defeat Perdomo but may be robbed in Oakland against Ward
- Abraham will KO Taylor
- Bute will decision Andrade
- I don't know who Steiglitz will be fighting.

middleweight

- If Pavlik is at his best he'll stop Williams, but I'm reading some rumors that he may have a drinking problem
- Lorenzo-Sylvester is too close to call
- I don't know who Sturm will fight next.

I do not believe Cunningham and Adamek will be fighting. Adamek has a fight with Golota and then possibly Hopkins. The reason the Adamek Cunningham fight is not happening is supposedly money.

There's a little debate that Sergio Martinez (Argentina) is white. If so, that makes it 20! If not, whatever....19 White Champions, YEAH!!!

What about Michael Katsidis? He is Greek. Also Adamek is no longer champion since he moved up to heavyweight. He is still Ring champion at cruiser but holds no belt. Cunningham is fighting Godfrey for the belt. Edited by: whiteathlete33

I count Martinez as white as all or most of his ancestry comes from Europe. However, he does not speak English and with a name like Martinez most fans will just label him as a Hispanic. No big deal. Still hope he KOs Williams next month.

Oh, and Adamek vacated his belt to fight Golota last month. He is after some money and is foolishly campaigning at heavyweight now.

I forgot about him. Although the belt he currently owns is a interim belt. JM Marquez will have to face him next or we'll have a new champ at lightweight

He has an interim title at lightweight, while Sebastian Zbik has an interim WBC title at middleweight. But I don't know if we should count those or not.

I have a feeling that Marquez will not fight Katsidis, and so he'll vacate and Katsidis will have the real WBO title before too long.
