Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is rehabilitating a left arm injury and likely won't fight again until 2010, manager Bernd Boente told ESPN.com on Saturday.

Boente said that Klitschko had "minor tendon surgery on his left shoulder six weeks ago." The injury had not previously been disclosed.

Klitschko (53-3, 47 KOs) injured the shoulder during his June 20 demolition of Ruslan Chagaev, who took a pounding and retired on his stool one second into the 10th round of their fight in Germany, Boente said.

"His rehab is going well, making good progress," Boente said.

Klitschko, who had the surgery in Germany, planned to make a mandatory defense against American Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KOs) in the fall. Klitschko's team has been in talks with Chambers' promoter, Dan Goossen.

However, between the injury and a lack of American television dates for the rest of the year, Boente said 2010 was more realistic for the fight with Chambers "because we want U.S. TV to be on board."

Boente said it would likely be in the spring, depending on the "final healing process, arena availabilities and TV dates."

Klitschko has won 11 fights in a row, including eight by knockout, as he has unified two belts.

His older brother, Vitali Klitschko, also holds one of the heavyweight belts and will defend it in Los Angeles against American Cristobal Arreola on Sept. 26.

I guess Chambers will have to wait to get his beating. The only upsetting part about this is that Povetkin will now have to wait even longer for this title fight. He deserves it much more than Chambers.

Will Eddie have to get back his old paper route?

I don't get why Eddie is jumping in front of Povetkin. The fight against Alexander was going to get Klitschko the biggest purse in his career(as far as I know). I think it was to be 10 Million and Alexander was to earn about 5 million.

I hate to hear about this injury, but Wlad should be back to 100% next year, and will hopefully be even better!

Paulie performance was great! However, he got f...ed by a hometown decision. Anyone with half of a brain knows he won that fight. His career is far from over!

Looks like another white fighter got screwed. Paulie is a great fighter but he lacks knockout power. He only has a 17 percent KO rate. I firmly believe that if Paulie had knockout power he would be the best as light welterweight.

Wlad not fighting this year has nothing to do with the injury, which is not serious.

From fightnews:

"IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will not be defending his title in December as had been expected. According to BILD, Wladimir suffered a tendon rupture in his left shoulder in his July win against Ruslan Chagaev that required an operation, although that operation is said to have no impact on the delay of Wlad's next defense. Apparently there are no longer any choice December dates available for U.S. TV, so Wlad will likely return early next year."

Obviously Jewish Supremacist HBO Sports President Ross Greenberg doesn't want to show a white heavyweight champion knocking out a negro to the American public.

They bend over backwards to have Tarver-Dawson II, Williams-Wright, and Dawson-Johnson on HBO. Greenburg offered $3 million to have Hopkins-Williams. They don't mind showing the limited white fighter Yorgey in against Angulo, just like Hershman at Showtime is willing to show the reach-challenged Oganov in against the taller, longer, naturally bigger Green (why not a white fighter who might win, like Inkin?). Those fights will help maintain the myth that white men can't fight.

But Greenburg doesn't want to show the white heavyweight champion of the world KO another negro opponent. After all, it might give some white kids the idea they can stand up to their negro bullies.Edited by: Parody

The pigs at HBO won't be able to keep this crap up too much longer. Wladimir will eventually fight Chambers and beat him and then Povetkin will get his well deserved title shot. There are too many up and coming white boxers to get completly shut out of programming. We will have the last laugh.

I've read that Wlad actually suffered the injury BEFORE the June fight and the fight made the injury worse.

I'm glad to hear the injury isn't serious but am disappointed he won't fight again this calender year. Hopefully he'll fight in January at the latest.

Here's a question. Wouldn't Wlad get more American TV exposure if he fought on ESPN instead of HBO? Surely more people have access to ESPN than HBO.

Yes, they probably do.

But like HBO and Showtime, ESPN is run by Jewish Supremacists, and showing a magnificent white heavyweight champion is not in line with their protocols.
