Poop,
the most interesting description of what happened occured the night of
the fight, when the allegation surfaced that a new trainer had rubbed
down Wladimir's entire body with vaseline just before the fight.
Lampley and others discussed the effects such treatment would have on a
fighter, with heat exhaustion being the primary result because the body
cannot release all the body heat generated during the fight.
After the figtht, Klitschko's attorney requested a government
investigation into possible poisoning or drugging, based on a couple of
things: the loss of a pass to Klitschko's training area, and the
destruction of blood and urine samples that should have been kept for
up to 14 days after the fight. Most boxing writers and fans write off
such allegations as so much whining on the part of the Klitschko's,
although the theft / loss of the pass hasn't been determined, and
blaming the destruction of the samples on the failure of the Klitschko
camp to request independent testing in a timely fashion, on the
requisite paperwork. In addition, Wladimir's prior loss to
Ross Purity appeared very similar to this one, because of sheer
exhaustion.
Another writer said that Wladimir had a "panic attack," suffering all
the physical symptoms of such attack but necessarily the mental ones.
Either way, he didn't look well in the loss to Brewster, and based on
his prior performances, e.g. againt Chris Byrd, Lamon Brewster should
have been a walk in the park.
p.s. If anybody else has info or rumors regarding this topic,
please post. I'd be interested, as I'm sure Kaptain Poop would also.
Thanks.
