Since the topic has come up, I thought I'd give my own thoughts on what I think the winning formula should be:

-Good defensive skills-To allow you to get inside against longer-armed fighters and protect your precious brain.

-Good infighting ability-as I say, a must if your average opponent has longer arms, unless you're nearly seven feet tall to begin with.

-Knock-out power-I think you really need to be able to knock your opponent out, since it's difficult to out-point someone who can jab at you from long distance and can probably take more repeated jars to the brain than you can. As per the issue a recent poster raised, developing good body shots can't hurt.

A white boxer needs to be able to fight at a distance, control the
tempo, land good jabs, use hooks, upper cuts inside and let the other
fighter come to him. Oh wait I've just described Vitali!

The Klitcho brothers will tell you exactly what a white boxer needs to be
an elite fighter: a short Black man named Emmanuel Steward. Steward's
application of the same formula that he used with Lennox Lewis (teaching
a tall fighter to fight a conservative bout in which he keeps shorter
fighters at bay with his reach and grabs them when they get to close) is
what has recently put both of these guys, especially the younger one
amongst boxing's elite. Isn't it kind of ironic to see that a Black man is the
brains behind these white athletes.

Emmanuel Steward only trains Wladimir. Vitali is trained by Fritz Sdunek, a white German. Moreover, Steward only started training Wlad in 2004.

So, Troll, both of your posts about Manu's ancestry were wrong, as is your post about Steward and the Klitschkos. That's three out of five wrong; a very poor batting average even for a troll.

Did they need his brains when they were getting their PhDs?
