What a game between the Colts and the Titans.Drew Bennett had 124 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns all in
the first half.I don't know if he got hurt because he
did not get any receptions in the 2nd half.On the Colts
side,Brandon Stokely had another monster game with 153
yards receiving and a td.Manning was consistant again with another 4 touchdown passes.The Colts make it look
like a playstation 2 video game with the ease that they
move the ball and score points.Mike Alstott had a good game with almost 50 yards rushing and a 5 yard per carry average.

Kudos to Bennett and Stokely. Wes Welker had 209
yards on 12 returns. Unfortunately his teammate,
Brock Forsey, probably didn't have 12 carries all year
long. At least they're giving Welker an opportunity to
play.

Those guys are definitely some of the bright spots
this year, along with some others. But my biggest
disappointments this year have to be:

1) Brock Forsey. With a terrible team and a horrible
running game, he still didn't play.

2) Brad Hoover. Same thing, terrible team for most
of the year, plenty of injuries, still neglected. Now
Goings is playing well and that'll mean more
blocking and no running for this talented player.
Unlike Forsey, at least Hoover had one game-
actually, just one half- to shine.

3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jon Gruden had three
talented white wide receivers that could've been
stellar players for Tampa Bay this year, and very little
has come from it. He cut Farmer before the season
even began, recently cut Schroeder, and Jurevicius
isn't used that much since he's back from his
injuries.

I also would've liked to see the Rams white WRs
used more.

Volek and Bennett just missed connecting on yet another long touchdown in the second half. Bennett had yet again blown by the defensive backfield, but Volek overthrew him by a yard, otherwise it would have been about a 60-yard TD to go with the other three long ones.

You know the Colts black defensive players had to be beside themselves that a white receiver kept beating them so badly, yet they couldn't do anything about it. And it was a 6-5 receiver doing it. Amazing! When was the last time a receiver of that height did that? Probably never.

Another interesting tidbit: though Steve McNair's passing ability is highly respected, all three of Bennett's big games this year (100+ yards receiving) have come when Volek was playing quarterback. Maybe McNair is given more credit than he deserves, even by some on this site, as a quality passing QB.

JDO, I agree with your observations. Dane Looker and Mike Furrie have disappeared. If McDonald beats out Curtis as Bruce's eventual replacement it will be a real setback. Forsey has been treated beyond disgusting, same with Farmer, Schroeder and Hoover. Don't you just love it how Schroeder had that huge game on Monday Night against the Raiders and then never stepped foot on the field again? They don't even bother with subtlety when they know 99.99 percent of the fans never notice what's going on.

Bennett is now up to nearly 800 receiving yards. With four games left he is a good bet to join Stokley in the 1,000 yard club, especially with Volek starting at least one more game. This could turn out to be as significant as 1998, when McCaffrey and Chrebet became the first white receivers to go over 1,000 receiving yards in a season since Largent and Collinsworth in the late '80s. This is especially satisfying because Bennett had the usual army of fan and media critics all over him earlier in the year when they wanted to make him the scapegoat for Tennessee's struggling passing game.

Stokley and Bennett are both still fairly young receivers who should have plenty of good years left. Let's hope Drew has a big game on the national stage Monday night against the Chiefs.
