A nice card (on free TV no less)!

The commercials/previews on FOX during the NFL playoffs focused almost exclusively on Davis and Evans so the average DWF and black racist probably thinks blacks dominate MMA. But maybe that will make them more likely to tune in as they hate watching white-dominated sports (especially when whites dominate their beloved Negroes).

Among hardcore MMA fans, the Sonnen-Bisping tilt is seen as the real main event.

I would actually like to see Davis beat Evans as then every single "Blackzillian" will have lost their last fight. Also, it will enable Dan Henderson to get a crack at Jon Jones in April. I give Dan a decent shot to beat Jones given his granite chin, hard punches and Olympic level 'wrasslin.'

I hate to root against Maia but Weidman could be the future at 185.

Not impressed with Shane Rollers wrestling. Johnson got taken down with ease in his last fight.

As expoected the Shane Roller fight was bull****. Herb Dean stopped Roller when he was not punching to the back of the head, it ended up throwing his momentum off.

I can't see Wisely winning this fight, Olivera is one of the best 155ers around, and Wisely is taking a huge step up forhis UFC debut.

Great wins for Russow, Dunham, Weidman, and Sonnen. I think if it wasn't for taking the fight on short notice Weidman would have destroyed Maia.

I don't agree at all.

http://blog.fightmetric.com/2012/01/sonnen-vs-bisping-official-ufc.html

Round 1 Sonnen outstruck him, and landed two takedowns. Round 2 Bisping had a slight edge in striking, but Sonnen landed the only takedown. Round three was all Sonnen.

MMA judging didn't just suddenly change tonight, takedowns and dominant positions have always been more favored. Joe Rogan is just extremely biased. Sonnen 29-28 at the very least.

And how would it ever be a "robbery" just because Bisping was close in the first two rounds? It's not like he was a clear cut winner of those rounds to earn the term "robbery."

Anak I agree Rogan was obviously biased and cheering for Bisping. I think whdat sealed the deal for Chael was him coming out in Rd3 an taking Bisping down with ease. Bisping's a strong dude but once Sonnen gets ahold of you, you're going down. BTW I enjoyed his post fight speech

I watched the Davis vs Evans fight. Davis has extremely slow hands. I think Evans could have ended it much earlier. I don't see a bright future for Davis in this sport. You can't coach hand speed.

IMHO, Bisping won round 1, Sonnen barely won round 2 & easily won round 3. I'd say a majority decision would have been a little more fair, but Sonnen won on overall points.

BTW, his post fight schtick was a "promo" of WWF/WWE lore & a bit tongue and cheek (building hype for the rematch vs. Silva).

I didn't think bisping won. round 1 I gave to Sonnen for the takedown, and lack of offense. Round 2 I gave the edge to Bisping. round 3 was all Sonnen. Bisping didn't do much in the clinch. ahnd that round house kick was terrible.

Phil Davis's problem was his kicks, twice he was taken down while tring to throw a kick. That usually from a lack of power or ability to balance yourself correctly. Rashad's boxing was much better. I personally feel if you have a wrestling background that boxing complements it more, it offer more close range combatand more clinch situations, while people with a judo and BJJ background tend to train Muay Thai.

Yeah, I'm not familiar with old school WWF but many have said that Chael copied Superstar Billy Graham. Oh, well.
