Good fight card. Especially looking forward to that Guida/Diaz fight. Guida is the mauler ground and pounder versus the submission specialist in Diaz. Diaz with those long legs pulls submissions out of his arse.

Fitch should win and I hope Bonnar gets his career back on track. I predict Pierre shuts up Penn once and for all as to who the best is. I would like to see Lyoto Machida win as well.

GSP looks so much bigger than Penn. Lots of "experts" are picking Penn but it ain't gonna happen. GSP will finish him late or get a UD.

Also predicting Machida, Bonnar, Parisyan and Guida.

Wouldn't mind seeing Parisyan lose, he came across like a egotistical self-centered prima donna on his guest appearance on the TUF show. He has never done enough in the UFC to warrant such a ego.

wow, DOMINATION by GSP. Penn didn't do anything after the 1st round. He's one tough hombre though, not many guy could have got through 3 complete rounds after multiples blow to the face. I don't know if any of you watched the PPV, but you gotta love GSP's accent

Penn has a granite chin thats for sure, GSP was just to much muscle as he repeatedly broke through bj's guard! Guida also won which i was happy about and Lyoto absolutely had a kill shot on Thiago Silva!

Good card. The only downside was Bonnar's lost to caste-pushed fighter (brutha) Jon Jones. Jones has nice takedowns, but I think Bonnar's game plan should have alluded takedowns/clinches. Bonnar needs to improve his clinch game & BJJ. Goldberg & Rogaine were nuttin' themselves over Jones (ala Kongo).

On the bright side, GSP squarely cemented himself as the 2nd best P4P fighter in the world (behind Fedor, yet clearly "surpassing" Silva)!

Couple thoughts on UFC 94:

1. Fedor, GSP and Silva are in a class by themselves. I have no problem with arguing for any of them as #1 p4p. Whites have 2 of the top 3 p4p fighters in the world.

2. Machida (half Asian, half white) will beat Evans and maybe every other fighter at 205.

3. Florian has a VERY good shot at beating Penn and taking the 155 belt.

4. Jon Jones - like a lot of black MMA fighters - has serious problems with cardio. The Bonnar fight could have gone either way but Jones won't get far. He was gassed at the end of round 2.

5. GSP will handle Alves.

I agree with every point in that excellent post. Machida is amazing and even better than I already thought he was. Machida will take apart Evans and I look forward to seeing that fight.

Coming into this fight already a GSP fan. I think Lyoto Machida is now my second favorite fighter. He ha s a patient style where he doesnt take many hits but inflicts a lot of pain.

After Alves bring on Anderson Silva for St Pierre!

Machida's far too cerebral for YOshad. Some MMA fans don't like Machida's allusive style, but I think he's a very intelligent fighter who leverages his strengths.

Dixie, fans opinions of Machida's style may be changing. The friends I was with when we were watching the ppv were wowed by the highlight package the UFC showed on Machida, especially those three crushing knees he had that took down one of his past opponnets in the ring. He also destroyed Thiago Silva that night and he's got alot more knockout power than I thought.Edited by: guest301

Ya know, I made a remark about a year or so ago about how Machida is boring to watch. I will have to eat my words on this one. Machida went toe to toe with Sokojou and put Sokojou on his ass before submitting him. Then he dominates Tito. Now this. Machida has more power than I initially thought he did. Thiego had never really been hurt before this. Machida dropped his ass.

Now GSP's corner is getting heat for rubbing vaseline on him. causing him to be more slippery and to be a better striker. Sarcasm, even if he did Penn was gassed and was beaten standing up as well as on the gorund.

GSP's team admitted rubbing him down with vaseline, but they said it was accidental and not nearly enough to affect the outcome of the fight. Apparently, according to GSP's team, GSP had a 'witch doctor' who used to tap GSP on his chest in one spot and rub his shoulders in a certain way in order to open energy lines or something.

During the fight, the cornerman who was responsible for putting vaseline on George's face was also the one who was doing the witch doctor's routine on GSP between rounds.

Make of it what you will. Edited by: White Shogun

overall i liked the fights. i'm a GSP so i was stoked he kicked Penn's ass. the only downside was watching Stephan Bonnar get completely owned by Jones. i have no clue what Bonnar was thinking. he seemed stuck and in awe of Jones speed/moves. he should of either committed to throwing punches in bunches or he should of committed to takedowns. instead, he walked around looking like an indecisive newbie, and while he was thinking about his next move, Jones had all the time in the world to strike. Bonnar really needs to reasses he's identity as a fighter. right now he's not good enough or fast enough to pull off both stand up and ground.

Jones was gassed completely from the middle of the second round on. The fact that Bonnar was unable to do zilch against a dude that was just hanging around sucking wind says alot.

Ditto that guys, Bonnar was not impressive. I too saw jones was gassed but bonnar had no gameplan, pretty boring fighter...

Sad but true, Bonnar was kinda boring in that fight. There is some irony in that though since Bonnar/Griffin 1 was arguably the most exciting fight in UFC history and put MMA in the cultural mainstream.
