Alright gentlemen, Who are we choosing for Saturdays UFC 75 matchups?

1-Dan Henderson vs "Rampage" Jackson

2-Mike Bisping vs Matt Hamil

3-CroCop vs C. Kongo

1-I'll take Henderson over Jackson in a war of attrition. Henderson controls the fight starting in the 2nd round and wears down Jackson for a decision victory.

2-I'll go with Bisping by Ko in the second round. Hamil comes out strong in the first and controls the action. Bisping finds his range in round two and clips Hamil with a overhand right ending the fight in a convincing fashion.

3-I pick CroCop. Even back and forth first round. CroCop starts getting the better of the exchanges in round two and finishes an exhausted Kongo in round 3 by strikes.

Now hopefully I didn't jinx any of these guys by picking them to win.

1) Henderson over Rampage by eventual TKO.

2) Bisping by ref stoppage. Hamill will take Bisping down a few times before Bisping puts the beating on him, forcing Hamill into a fetal position where upon the ref will step in and stop the fight.

3) CroCop by GnP ref stoppage.

4) I think Sakara gets stopped by Alexander.

And I, too, hope I have not cursed Hendo and Cro Cop by picking them to win.

I think matt hamil is going to surprise alot of people. He would have beaten bisping in the ulitimate fighter had he not gotten hurt. He is the toughest def guy I know.

Henderson vs. Rampage- I see Henderson controlling the fight with his wresling. I see him winning every round 10-9 due to his grappling ability which will allow him to control the fight.

Crocop vs. The Frenchman

This is the most important fight on the card for me personally because of what it represents. I think Crocop will stand for the first round with Cheiki and the round going either way with little action. I see Crocop taking Cheiki down in the 2nd round and seriously hurting him. Crocop isn't the best on the ground, I'll admit that. However Cheiki is attrocious on the ground. ATTROCIOUS! Crocop 2nd round tko.

Matt Hamill vs. Michael Bisping-I think Matt Hamill is gonna surprise alot of people and ground and pound Bisping into submission. Don't get me wrong I like Bisping, but I feel that Matt Hamill is grossly under rated.

He got hurt from a blow to the head, and didn't want to train anymore after that. He was taking the other guys down too hard during training, and they consistently asked him to tone it down. Hamill said that's the way wrestlers train, hard, so that's what he was going to do. Until somebody almost knocked him out.. different story. I felt that he quit after that.

Just curious, how many deaf guys do you know?

WS, I agree. Hamil has a suspect chin and I think Bisbing is going to check it for him. Your also probably right about Sakara getting beat by Alexander, but who knows maybe the Roman can catch him coming in and end the fight early

Don't give Alexander too much credit. He's a ham and egger. Jardine was foolish to stand and brawl with him. That was the only chance Alexander had to win and Jardine handed it to him. Get this guy on the ground and he will be subbed...quickly.

I hope your right, I'm just nervous because Sakara was TKO'd in the UFC last year by Andrew McFedries, another black fighter. It is Sakara's only loss by TKO, but McFedries isn't really all that, either. Sakara hasn't won by sub since 2002 (according to Sherdog), and all of his recent wins were by decision or strikes. So I figure the UFC brought him in to bang with Alexander, after his highlight reel demolition of Jardine. My heart is with Legionarius (is there a cooler nickname in MMA?) but I'm concerned he is going to get blown up in this one.

I share your concern WS. I'm not going to predict a winner, as I have sworn off prognostication, but I will hope for Legionarius to play it cagey against this guy and take him down and sub him. We'll see.

All fighters looked ready at the weigh-in. Dan was his usual well-grounded self.

CC/ Kongo is dripping with caste implications. If I'm Kongo I'm going to go right at CC and pressure him, try to get to that chin. If I'm CC I unleash leg kicks from hell to get Kongo thinking low and then, sometime later in the fight, I go high and it's good night.

Anyway, ought to be an exciting night of fights.

You guys crack me up, worrying about minor fighters like Jardine and Sakara.

I have written and rewritten this post a dozen times, but Poacher said it best. I agree completely.

Where the caste media is in play there are no minor fighters. White defeat is played and replayed on TV regardless of who the fighter is.

So yes Nevada, in terms of their relative importance to the UFC I agree these two are "minor" (for now) but in terms of the propaganda value of their respective defeats and victories when fighting non-white fighters they are not minor.

BTW, anyone object to those 5 minute long Girls Gone Wild ads on Spike? They seem in poor taste to me despite the scenery.

Spoiler alert! Do not read further if you do not want to know who wins. I am not sure if their are time delays in the states so as a precaution I put that up there.

Wow! Crocop looked, and fought like sh*t.

Henderson looked dog ass tired after the first round.

And I thought Hamill got bent over and received a royal reaming when they GAVE the fight to Bisping.

Sums up my thoughts on the nights fights.

Cheick Kongo surprised me in his ability to control crocop in clinches.

Jackson also appeared to be the superior grappler against Henderson. Amazing.

All in all. Not one fighter I liked won(Except Davis). I don't know who won the sakara fight because I started watching the Davis one where he won by submission.

Alexander won by KO in the first round.

CroCop should retire, he really sucks now.

I was surprised that Rampage outwrestled Henderson.

Agree. Rampage looked dominant on the ground. I have to give credit where credit is due. Rampage appeared to be in much better shape than henderson as well. He looked fresher.

As I analyze the night of fights with less emotion and more logic I have to say that Jackson deserved to win.
Henderson looks too small for the light heavyweight division as well. I think he should move back down to 185 and take that title as I don't think Anderson Silva has the ground game to keep Henderson off of him.

As for cheik Kongo? He surprised me as well. His ground game is much better now. I would have to put him in the top 10 for heavyweights. I still see cotour, or Gonzaga for that matter whipping his ass though. But credit to him for atleast working on his ground game.

I expected Sakara to lose so it's not to big of a deal there.

As for Bisping. I like the guy but I must say I believe he got a little bit o home cookin on the decision. I seen Bisping winning only the last round while Hamill dominated the first round and I thought did more than enough to win the second as well.

Hey Aussie: Congo is no frenchman, he's an African. Whites are not Africans, we're Europeans. Whites are not and never will be Africans. Repeat after me: AFRICANS BLACK, EUROPEANS WHITE. Understand? If you make the same mistake again I will be forced to give you an F-.

Cool out Maple dude. If you think I think that Cheik Kongo is white than I think you shouldn't drink ale before posting.

If you read my post and can't see the sarcasm in it than that is your problem. I am a white nationalist. I know what white is, and what white is not. I'll repost it and break it down for you since you find it so offensive.

Crocop vs. The Frenchman

(FIRST OF ALL NOTICE THE SLY GRIN I POSTED WITH IT.) This is the most important fight on the card for me personally because of what it represents.(NOW, IF I CONSIDERED KONGO WHITE DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD SAY IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FIGHT OF THE NIGHT FOR ME BECAUSE OF WHAT IT REPRESENTS?) I think Crocop will stand for the first round with Cheiki and the round going either way with little action. I see Crocop taking Cheiki down in the 2nd round and seriously hurting him. Crocop isn't the best on the ground, I'll admit that. However Cheiki is attrocious on the ground. ATTROCIOUS! Crocop 2nd round tko.

I think most people would read it and realize right off the bat that I was just joking around. Lighten up dude. It is not that serious.

All I can say is it sucks that Cro Cop has three fights left on his contract. I don't think I ever want to see him fight again. He looked tentative and afraid. I don't know what's happened to him, maybe he should retire. I can't stand the thought of watching him become some kind of gatekeeper for B-level fighters in the UFC, especially after watching his great fights in Pride.

Did anyone catch Goldberg and Rogan discussing how marketable Cheick Kongo would be as a champion? "He has the looks, he has the physique, he has the skills, and he has the cool name, even if it isn't spelled right." Pretty much a direct quote.

Hamill got jobbed. He really surprised me. I deserve to eat a steaming pile of hot crow for my prediction on this fight. I thought he'd quit after he got pegged a few times, but he pursued Bisping pretty much to the end, landing the harder shots and scoring the takedowns.

The Alexander-Sakara fight was the only one that went anything like I thought, unfortunately.

The Henderson-Jackson fight was a good fight to watch, despite the outcome.

The hypebole is getting out of hand though. They must have used the word 'phenomenal' at least a 100 times in the first hour. And LOL @ saying this is the biggest fight in MMA history. This would have been just another fight on an old Pride card.

Fight of the night was Davis-Taylor though.

I'm wondering how many of the former Pride fighters are being effected by the 'roid testing in the states, and if so, what those effects are besides the obvious loss of size.

I think size played a major role in tonights UFC. The following are random observations I made while watching the fights.

1- CroCop vs Kongo-In defense of CroCop Kongo looked to be a head taller and 25-30 pounds heavier. However CroCop had a triangle looking him right in the face at the end of the 1st round and why he never even made the attempt is beyond me. Mirko desperately needs to train in some submission/position from the guard or his glory days are behind him. Last but not least-CroCop needs to seriously look into dropping down to the 205 division, he could leave a pile of victims like Houston Alexander in his wake.

2-Bisbing vs Hamil-First off, Hamil impressed me with his punching power and I think he has an excellent future ahead of him. I gave Hamil the first round, even for the second and Bisbing the third for a draw. Bisbing also needs to drop down a weight class to 185.

3-Henderson vs Rampage-As much as Rampage disgusts me I'll have to admit he's much improved. But I still don't see him keeping the title for long. So far he has a legitimate KO victory over Liddell and 2 close decision wins over a couple of 185 pounders. I think this just goes to show how much difference 15 to 20 pounds can make when two pro fighters compete. Henderson will be extremely competitive at 185 and I predict he takes Anderson Silvas title if they ever meet.

Just my humble opinion after watching UFC 75. Great night of fights and the price was right

Excellent observations, dkr.

Good point about Jackson's last couple of victories ('cept Chuck) over middleweights.

Cro Cop is a big man but yeah, Kongo looked much larger. Guess we'll have to wait and see if Randy can bull him around, too. I'm sure Kongo is now in line for a title shot some time in the not too distant future.

Cro Cop seems to believe too much of his own hype. It looks to me like he just wants to stalk his opponent down just to throw a high head kick. He used to work on setting that kick up, going low, then high, and mixing in some punches. Now, he just seems to want to win with one shot to the head.

I do wonder how much those knees to the balls effected him though. It looked to me like Kongo kneed him in the groin a number of times before McCarthy warned him.

I always wondered why crocop never thought about dropping down as well. I have seen him listed at 215lbs on several occasions. I have seen him listed as light as 212lbs before. Now I don't claim to know Crocop's comfort zone.(Everybody's different when it comes to cutting weight) But I wrestled for several years and I'll tell ya what. I would drop the 12 extra pounds and fight in a division where the competitors were more my height and weight. For most athletes 12-15 pounds would be little more than minimal. Now if he had to cut say 20/25lbs I would be able to understand.

Kongo's reach went a long way in helping him defeat Crocop. Reach isn't everything, however if the difference is enough you have a distinct advantage. Especially when both are established kickboxers.

As far as Goldberg goes. Yes I thought he was gonna start lickin Kongo's nuts as Kongo was exiting the cage. I guess a Goldberg will be a Goldberg. Whether announcing the UFC, or suing someone for the ADL.

Same mentality as boxing. Why the hell should anyone care about a fighter's physique? It's a fight, not a bodybuilding contest. These male cheerleaders in the media (and the fans) bust a nut every time they see a boxer with dark skin and muscles. Nauseating. Edited by: JD074

I think things are looking up though. If Dan henderson decides to fight at 185 he will without a doubt take Silva's belt if Franklin doesn't do it first. (Personally I like Franklin, however I see him losing to Silve again. Probably not as bad the 2nd time around though).

Shogun Rua, I believe will be the next Light Heavyweight champion. I like Griffin. But I see Shogun making quick work of Griffin. Then I see him getting a shot at Rampage. Anything can happen in a fight, however I think Shogun has a huge advantage mentally over Jackson.
