Wilks defeated Sobotta via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-28, 30-27).

Main card

* Welterweight bout: Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald

Condit defeated MacDonald via TKO at 4:53 of round 3

* Heavyweight bout: Ben Rothwell vs. (afflete) Gilbert Yvel = Rothwell by UD.

* Welterweight bout: Paulo Thiago vs. Martin Kampmann = Kampmann by UD.

* Heavyweight bout: Mirko FilipoviÄc vs. (afflete) Patrick Barry = CroCop by sub (RNC) 4:30 of Rnd 3.

* Light Heavyweight bout: Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin = Franklin by KO (punch) at 4:55 of round 1. ***Franklin broke his arm blocking a kick to the body earlier in the round.

*** Some good wins with Rothwell, Crocop & Dunham defeating afflete(s) &/or mulattos. IMO, Liddell needs to retire. He's lost hand speed & doesn't have the chin he did 4+ years ago. He's tarnishing his legacy by continuing to fight (he's been KO/TKO'd in his last 3 fights & lost 5 of his last 6 fights

Are you sure Wiks is mulatto? He just looks like a bald white guy to me. Pat Barry is def. Mulatto, no way he is full black.

Guest, I think you're correct on Barry being a mulatto. Wilks I'm not sure of, but he has kind of a mulatto look.

Even though i'm glad Cro Cop won, does it seem that fight was a little suspicious? I mean it seemed that cro cop was flattened twice and the other fighter did'nt do anything, and then the hug before the end of the round? It just seems like that fight was'nt on the up and up. Your thoughts?

That is because Pat Barry has zero ground game as the Tim Hague fight shows. I feel that he didn't want to end up in Cro Cop gaurd at any point in the fight, so he decided to keep it standing. Wand and Overeem are know to do the same. I think the biggest problem with Barry is not his ground game, but his severe lack of endurance.

What race is Tyson Griffin? I always figured he was white but just tanned a lot like Arturo Gatti. Maybe he is part Indian like Dan Henderson?

I kind of know Tyson. His mom is white and his dad is black. He is very close to his mom and hates his dad. That is all I know I've trained with him a few times. Currently I train at Duke Rufus's gym in Wisconsin. I train with Pat Barry and Ben Rothwell. I am writing this to make a point. I have watched Barry spar with Rothwell, and Barry does not preform well. Usually Barry ends up on his back or takes a dangerous knee kick. The truth is wither anyone wants to here it is Barry CANNOT hold his own with Ben Rothwell. Barry is 31; not young and not inexperienced. Barry is not a contender. I have been a mma fan since 93 when i was 7. I gareentee Barry i nothing more then another flash in the pan.

Thanks for the info Hawkeye. Barry seems a decent guy but he is still a white belt in BJJ, no? That just can't work at this level of MMA.

How is Ben's ground game? He standup is solid and if he can get better on the ground I think he can be a top 5 heavyweight.

I take BJJ (still a white belt but getting close to blue) and I hate it when I have to roll with a big dude who knows what he is doing.

Hawkeye, Duke Roufus is a bad@$$ at MTKB (I have 1 of his DVDs). It's awesome you get to train with A-level fighters like that. I'm a BJJ purple-belt & have rolled with several brown belts & a couple black belts & a few MMA fighters (bush league)...but never top notch guys like Rothwell. I trained MTKB in Atlanta in the late 90s, but never competed (I wished I'd have went into MMA about 10 years ago...hindsight = 20/20). I've also been an MMA fan since the NHB days of UFC 1.
