COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A federal judge in Ohio has ruled that counties must allow homeless voters to list park benches and other locations that aren't buildings as their addresses.

U.S. District Judge Edmund Sargus also ruled that provisional ballots can't be invalidated because of poll worker errors.

Monday's ruling resolved the final two pieces of a settlement between the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless and Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.

The coalition agreed to drop a constitutional challenge to Ohio's voter identification law until after the Nov. 4 election. In return, Brunner and the coalition agreed on procedures to verify provisional ballots across all Ohio counties.

The coalition was concerned that unequal treatment of provisional ballots would disenfranchise some voters.http://dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2008/10/28/ajudgerule.html?sid=101

Hopefully the votes don't matter anyway. I mean if the outcome is already set then who cares who votes?

It really is funny that a judge would rule that a park bench can be listed as a place of residence. I wish I would get that kind of loony judge when I get a ticket.

I've always felt the voting "ID" process was ridiculous. At my place you don't have to show anything, just sign a form that some old lady glances at, I don't even think they have a signature to compare it to. I thinking of sending one of my kids to vote for me, I don't think anyone would mind.

You have to show your license to get into a bar but the voting booth, naw why bother, it don't count anyway. If it did they would really check out the voters.
