Ever notice you never see former NHL players fall on hard times after their playing careers are over? Gee, I wonder why that is? Maybe its because white people actually know how to manage their money. I think I read something to the effect of 60% of black NBA players going broke after the end of their careers. If I made even a sliver of what they made in their lifetimes, I would save it and live modestly. Unfortunately for them, that trait doesn't seem to be in their DNA.

One of the negatives of being extremely "tribal" like black americans are, is that you have a very large extended family. Sure they stick together when times are good. Sure they vote 99% for their race. But that means when one of them hits the lottery there are a lot of extended family to take care of.

I see this amongst black people who don't even hit the lottery. Just being a black person who is working and has a regular pay check can be difficult. There will always be dozens of cousins and plenty of bros that are in hard times and "hey help a brother out".

Of course that doesn't excuse the mansions, the cars, the ho's, the making it rain. But it doesn't help either.

I have stated this before but putting Black celebrities on allowances like child actors and amateur athletes used to be might be best for most of them. It's either that and pay them in credits for drugs, gambling, booze and hookers...:biggrin:

This is what happened to Pac-Man Jones. He just couldn't couldn't leave the 'ol boyz in da hood behind once he became rich and famous. They ended up bleeding him dry financially as well him getting in trouble with the law.
