Nobody could beat the Rock.

He is the greatest.

And that makes a certain group of people angry almost 50 years later!

I agree that Rocky was the greatest, but I think it's to early to say that about the Klitschko brothers. If they continue to be dominant over the next several years then I think you can say it. You usually realize how great an athlete is after they've retired. I hope they will continue their success for years to come. With the way the heavyweight division is now it would be a great testimony to their greatness if they could really dominate it. There are so many current and up and coming heavyweights that are really good. It's gonna be tough no matter who the champ is.

I really like Marciano,Dempsey and Tunney. But in my humble opinion if you were to match the best heavyweights of all-time,one of the two would have to be Jim Jeffries. Jeffries and Dempsey would be a war. Vitali has got to considered one of the all-time greats. At 6'8 250lbs do you see him being beat by 6'1 200 Joe Louis? 5'11 208 Joe Frazier? 6'3 215 Cassius Clay? 5'11 212 Mike Tyson? Vitali being a White fighter from a Eastern European nation most likely will never been given credit from a liberal jock sniffing media, but the man is good-REAL GOOD!!!

My top three heavyweights of all time are:
1) GENE TUNNEY, 82-1-3. He was 3-1-1 against the only man that ever beat him, Harry Greb.

2) ROCKY MARCIANO, 49-0, with 43 KO's.

3) VITALI KLITSCHKO, 35-2. Vitali has never been knocked down, and has the highest KO percentage of all heavyweights (34 of his 35 wins were by knockout). Vitali was ahead on the judges cards at the end of all of his 37 fights.

But the best may be yet to come - there's a lot of young, talented boxers in the heavyweight division, such as:
ALEXANDER POVETKIN, 11-0, who won the Gold Medal for Russia (Super Heavyweight class) in the 2004 Summer Olympics,
DENIS BOYTSOV, 17-0, turned 22 in February, and
ALEXANDER DIMITRENKO, 24-0, 24 years old. Edited by: JD1986
