here is a short video narrated by an Irish guy that deals with issues like torso length to leg length, stride length to stride frequency, etc. Lemaitre gets a mention in the "tall sprinter category". He postulates it will be difficult for a medium to shortish sprinter ever approaching the 100m WR.
As Tyson Gay said, Bolt had the stride length of a long legged man of 6'5" but turnover frequency of a man 5'9" - tough to beat.
Interesting to hear his thoughts why long torsoed people make the best swim sprinters. E.G. Michael Phelps at 6'5" had a similar leg length to Hicham El Gerrouj at 5'9"
Interesting and short enough to take it all in.
