I go to alot of track sites and I finally found a link to this video. It covers 4 of Englands top young sprinters including Craig Pickering. He is the biggest star. It is very interesting for anyone into track and field. It gives you a glimpse into their lifes and their struggles. Some of the races that Craig wins are by a landslide. Enjoy it guys and post your comments. It is around 1 1/2 hours.

Has anyone even watched this yet? I thought it was a very exciting documentary. I'm suprised that not one person here has commented on the film. I really enjoyed it. You can really tell that Craig is an intelligent young man. He is constantly reading and is not only a student of the sport, but a very smart guy as well.

I have always said that Craig can be as important to helping break the Caste System as any athlete in the world. The 100/200 meters in track have long been an area where people just assume that no other ethnicity has a chance. I have said for many years that we used to be very competetive and we can be again. I have so much respect for any sprinter and what they put their bodies through on a daily basis to compete. I one thing I hate however is the cheating. One of the books you can see on Craigs bookshelf is "Winning without drugs". That pretty much sums it all up in a nut shell. This is a true role model for the youth of England and around the world. I can't wait to see what this season has in store for him and the other sprinters we root for.

One last thing. I really liked when they showed him losing his semifinal heat in Osaka, Japan in the last World Champs. He ended up watching the final on tv as it was a battle between Asafa and Gay. Craig was clearly very dissapointed. I think that he knows he should have been in one of thoselanes! As he walked out of the stadium, he said, "I will not forget this moment". " I will think about this moment every day and through every training session". He is clearly focused and driven to be the best. You have to love his attitude!Edited by: white lightning

two things i noticed that were very subtle:

1) the anti-white dig at Pickering by the black trainer of one of the other sprinters.

2) the two faster black sprinters both ignored their black competition and said Pickering was the man they targeted as their biggest rival.

he has respect!

I don't think the thinking about the deuce is that bad as many whites have made the finals at recent majors and KK won two majors(while probably drugged). I did notice in that video that Harry AA already had a 25K car and he was only a junior champion? Maybe this is why MLF has been a huge flop as a senior.......

For anyone who hasn't watched this documentary yet, I highly recomend it. It will make many more people realize just how talented Craig Pickering is. I need to get this burned onto a dvd someday so I can watch it on my big screen tv! Let's hope Pickering can add some more footage for a part II in the future!

I saw it, thank you for posting it. What a nice guy. After he won his race in Prague he stuck out his tongue. He's getting more comfortable and his personality is showing. Im glad hes overcoming his shyness. Its amazing to believe that someone as fast as him could come from a family that seems so normal.

Just want to bump this thread so alot of new members here can watch this great documentary. For people who don't know who Craig Pickering is(my avatar picture), watch this film. He is attempting to become the fastest man in the world some day. I need to get this on dvd someday.

Thanks for the video. I wish the screen on the link were bigger -- had to squint a bit -- but it was good watching, most definitely.

One thing I must say, though, is that as talented as Craig Pickering is, I think he isn't as good as Matt Shirvington was, at least not yet. Maybe Craig needs to bulk up a bit more (?) and also try not to stomp so much when he runs. I notice that the other runners tend to roll off their feet more smoothly, where as Craig is like clomp-clomp-clomp.

If he fixes that there's no reason why he shouldn't dip under 10 seconds on more than one occasion.

You should have been able to watch the documentary in full screen. Try it again and click on the box to make it larger. I have watched it several times on full screen and I love it.

Pickerings form is far from perfect. It needs some work but that just makes what he has accomplished that much more impressive! Big things are still to come in the next few years. Things are going to be just fine before too long. If not, it's time to find a new coach.
