Good to see another excellent white fighter. Of course when I first saw the name on the thread, this is what came to mind:

I made a point of catching the fight on Fox Sports and it turned out to be a cracking good fight.

Very crisp punching and both seemed to think they could win by KO.

Lipinets another strong Central Asian prospect.

His original opponent was supposed to a citizen of one of the former Soviet Republics and a Eurasian.

Similar to Loma at lightweight Lipinets is usually at a height and reach deficit to most welterweights as his Black opponent is significantly taller, but Sergei is a strong -250 betting favorite but as we saw last week once the fight begins pre fight odds are just that.

Note I have never heard of this opponent so he should be mediocre but one difference from last week Lopez would have been a betting favorite against any lightweight but Loma, this guy would probably be a dog verse almost all highly ranked welterweights.

The Canadian Negro he's fighting normally fights at 154. Lipinets has mostly fought at 140.

Quite a size difference.

This would explain the huge size difference, since his opponent is a club fighter I expect him to give up his size too easily and after a few rounds of having problems reaching his chin and rib cage, Lipinets will work on the inside work over the larger man.

Size was a big factor in this fight, this like the fight last week had two guys who should have really fought in different divisions.

Lipinets who isn't a lights out puncher at welterweight couldn't hurt Clayton and was able to get inside but his power shots weren't going to break down a guy who was at least 15 pounds heavier than him in the ring. If you want to see what a weight gain Clayton had watch the height difference at the weigh in and the fight. Once Clayton filled out he looked marginally taller than Lipinets but at the weigh in he looked more than two listed inches taller.

While a rematch maybe on the books Lipinets similar to Lomachenko should probably think about dropping down a division and fighting men more in his size range.
