Americans live in a "democracy" -- as long as they never challenge the very narrowly defined consensus agreed upon by the two nearly identical monopoly parties and the media. Stray away from the reservation into any area considered "controversial" and you find out quickly how things really work.

The patriotic mayor of Hazleton, Pennsylvania led the way in getting some ordinances passed last year that would give the town some control over its illegal immigration problem. But no one is allowed to do that in the USSA, not even a single small city. We're not supposed to oppose the Third World invasion other than to bitch now and then over a beer at the local watering hole. Might give others the wrong idea and before you know it the serfs might actually start believing that stuff about being "free."

So, an army of 37 vultures (lawyers) attacked Hazleton in the courts, with a federal judge eagerly doing his part and overturning the town's ordinances as "unconstitutional."

Now the attorneys are attempting to extract $2.4 million in legal fees from Hazleton, a city with an annual budget of $7.5 million.

Just as with the athlete or announcer who occasionallylets slipa verboten opinion about race, the perpetrator must not only be defeated but punished and humiliated in such a way that everyone learns the proper lesson. In this case, any city or town thinking of doing what Hazelton did -- and many are -- now knows they will not only be attacked in the media and through the courts, but ruined financially if at all possible.

These folks in Hazleton deserve all the support they can get.
