A team of white high school stars won the Kingswood Classic
tournament in Houston over the weekend. This is the biggest
AAU-style event in the spring, and every DI school was down
there.
The Portland team has two of the top sophomores (class of 07)
in the country, in 6-10 Kevin Love, a traditional center whose
dad is the University of Oregon's all-time leading scorer (I
think), and Kyle Singler a pure 6-7 wing.
Portland beat the SYF Players from Gary in the championship
game. SYF's best player is a white banger, 6-7 Luke
Harangody (class of 06). SYF pulled off the big upset of the
tournament, beating the team featuring the "next LeBron", O.J.
Mayo from Cincinnati, in teh semifinals.
