Plant needs to make a statement against a fading contender in Truax this Saturday on Fox Sports for free. There is no reason Plant should not destroy Truax.

If he wins in a sensational fashion. A huge fight with the boxing's cash cow Alvarez awaits. Alvarez has a warm body to beat down in February. Then a more serious opponent in Saunders in May. Alvarez should win both.

Then the big money and world stage awaits Plant to plant his flag with a difficult fight against unstoppable Alvarez based on his last fight. Yet, Saturday is first things, first. Plant was feature on Fox and Friends this morning seems like a good due.

The world is in his hands.

I looked up the betting odds as Plant is a 50 to 1 betting favorite, this should be a sparring session. The fugly looking Mulatto Truax was viewed as a pit stop to stardom when he beat fellow Mulatto DeGale for the belt that Plant holds but he shouldn't be on Plant's level and it should be a showcase fight.

But even with a showcase fight it could be fun to watch because Truax has heart and can take a beating.

Plant has skills that need to be showcased.

Glad to see he's getting some work in the middle of this horrible plague.

Hopefully there are enough survivors to provide an audience.

There doesnt feel like an opportunity for a CF jinx here. Pretty one sided, easy money for Plant.

Good performance, all rounds I think.

But I am not going to lie, if he is to challenge Canelo this is an underpreformance, unless Truax was just very, very game. Perhaps Plant will surprise me but there was not much power on display in this fight.

His corner needed to give him some urgency to walk down Truax, Truax could have been stopped via mercy stoppage on the referee's part as he was taking a beating but it wasn't sustained enough to get to that point.

I would grade this performance as a C+ to a B-, it showed his skills but left much to be desired.

PS, Truax had me thinking of a Vlad TV interview with Sinbad( Mulatto comedian) where he said a non PC joke about Minnesota was full of brothers that had a Nordic fetish and most of their kids were Mulattos.

If Truax wanted to be an actor he could play a character in a biblical heaven and hell fantasy as he looked slightly Satanic with his line beard...

Plant claiming he broke his hand. I'd say it was a good performance overall but his lack of power is definitely a question heading into Canelo fight.

This makes sense on why he never tried to walk down Truax who had no answer for his combinations.

PS Saunders has an agreement in principle for an Alvarez bout in May. Plant because he is a PBC fighter might not be able to secure a fight with Alvarez because Al Haymon may block this fight as he would be dog against Alvarez and Haymon probably wouldn't want to lose control of the title.

Don King was notorious for doing this unless a rival fighter signed options, when the money was huge and overwhelming then King would do an equitable split with a rival promoter ie Holmes vs Cooney or Leonard vs Duran I and II.

Sounds like Plant will have plenty of time to recover then with the mandatory Canelo V Saunders!

Agreed. He will have to hope that Alvarez believes he is a winnable fight to take his belt after tonight's performance.
