Satoshi Iishi, judo. 21 years old, 5-11 243. Number 1 at over 220 pound class. The Japanese judo program is trying to encourage him to stay in judo for the 2012 games in London, but he is interested in taking MMA matches instead.

Ben Askren, wrestling. 24 years old, 5-10 163. Number 7 at freestyle 163 pound class. He plans to coach wrestling at Missouri for 2 years and then turn pro in MMA.

That makes sense. There is very little money to be made continuing to do what they are doing, the money is in MMA now. I wouldn't be suprised to see American heavyweight wrestler Steve Mocco go pro someday too.

I would like to see Cole Conrad, Steve Mocco, and Tommy Rolands go out for MMA. These guys are the three best American freestyle Super heavyweights to come out in a long time. Mocco was also a Judo Champion.

Natural progression for these wrestlers is MMA. I was hoping Kael Sanderson would go MMA, but he decided to coach (which he'll also probably do well at).
